Thanks to all who joined us after service today for our annual Spuper Bowl lunch and fundraiser! The team did a GREAT job preparing all of the yummy food 😋

Today, 90 years ago, Bemis Johnston attempted to takeoff in his wingless plane at the Monessen Airport right across from the Church. The plane failed to start and it was never attempted again. An interesting time for our area.
Attached in the Rostraver Township Historical Society's post are more photographs of newspaper clippings from The Pittsburgh's Press and Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

The plane failed to start on this day and the event canceled. The plane would never take off after several tries days later and Bemis Johnston’s dream of a wingless plane would never be realized.
