Did you know?
Tomorrow, Sunday, May 24,2026, is the Day of Pentecost, or in Hebrew, Shavuot (shaw-voo-OAT) meaning "weeks."
It is one of God's appointed meeting times with His people.

Israel remembers the day as the anniversary of God shouting down the 10 Commandments from Mt. Sinai.

Christians also remember it, but as the birthday of "the church" in Acts 2.

However, the Greek Old Testament (Septuagint) calls the mixed multitude at Sinai the "ekklesia". In the OT testament ekklesia is translated "congregation" or "assembly." In the NT, ekklesia is translated "church." SAME word. Different translation, (WHY?)

Anyhoo. . .
I will be speaking at Oak Mound Christian Church tomorrow, examining the OT shadow picture of "Shavuot" and the NT fulfillment of "Pentecost" and WHY it is important. The parallels are amazing and your faith will be strengthened.

Come and learn
"How to Find Your Fire for God."

Join us TONIGHT at 7PM Central for our weekly Bible Study. Each week we discuss the weekly Torah Portion that has been studied by believers going back to the days of Ezra and Nehemiah. We then consider that week's events in the life of Yeshua/Jesus, and look for correlations. Sometimes we find incredible parallels, sometimes not. But we always learn something of value!!
Tonight we will discussing

1 Sam 15:2-34
Isa 43:21 - 44:23
Yeshua Portion - week 8 and week 58 of Jesus' ministry
Week 8 Day 1 - John 2:13
Week 8 Day 5 - John 2:14-22
Week 58 (58-61 is Adar Bet)
Luke 17:11 - 18:14

Ni**od, Semiramis (Easter), Tammuz, and pagan mythology in the modern church

Many Christians today are not aware or don’t care that the builder of the Tower of Babel became a “god” of ancient mythology, and his presence is still felt today.

In an 1853 book Alexander Hislop reports that Semiramis’s name became synonymous with the pagan goddesses Ishtar (Easter), Astarte, and Ashtoreth.

When Ni**od died, he was so famous that he was proclaimed the god of the sun. His wife Semiramis gave birth to boy named Tammuz, who she claimed was Ni**od reincarnated. Tammuz grew up to be a skilled hunter, but was gored to death by a wild boar at age 40.

After his death, Semiramis as the “Queen of Heaven,” declared that there should be mourning of his death, 1 day for each year of his life, : 40 days of “weeping for Tammuz” prior to her birthday , Easter Sunday, during which time people would give up something they loved. Does this sound familiar?

Despite God’s repeated commandment to not blend worship of YeHoVAH with pagan rituals and customs, the Israelites did just that.

Deuteronomy 18:9 NAS95 "When you enter the land which the LORD your God gives you, you shall not learn to imitate the detestable things of those nations.

Deuteronomy 12:30-32 NAS95 beware that you are not ensnared to follow them (pagan gentiles), after they are destroyed before you, and that you do not inquire after their gods, saying, 'How do these nations serve their gods, that I also may do likewise?' (31) "You shall not behave thus toward the LORD your God, for every abominable act which the LORD hates they have done for their gods; for they even burn their sons and daughters in the fire to their gods. (32) "Whatever I command you, you shall be careful to do; you shall not add to nor take away from it. (See also

2 Kings 17:33 NAS95 They feared the LORD and served their own gods according to the custom of the nations from among whom they had been carried away into exile.

Even after a stern warning from the prophet Jeremiah, they refused to repent:

Jeremiah 44:15-17 NAS95 Then all the men who were aware that their wives were burning sacrifices to other gods, along with all the women who were standing by, as a large assembly, including all the people who were living in Pathros in the land of Egypt, responded to Jeremiah, saying, (16) "As for the message that you have spoken to us in the name of the LORD, we are not going to listen to you! (17) "But rather we will certainly carry out every word that has proceeded from our mouths, by burning sacrifices to the queen of heaven and pouring out drink offerings to her, . . . . .

Ezekiel had visions of Israel’s idolatry in chapter 8, described as “abominations”:
Ezekiel 8:14 NAS95 Then He brought me to the entrance of the gate of the LORD'S house which was toward the north; and behold, women were sitting there weeping for Tammuz.

How long will God tolerate His people today blending pagan sun god worship with the rightful worship of the Almighty? Repentance from these abominations is sorely needed!
