Bella Vista Community Church We worship together on Sunday mornings at 10:00 AM. We would love to have you join us! This is the great and first commandment. Matthew 28:19-20

As we grow together, we long to become people who visibly reflect Christ's Great Command and Great Commission. Jesus said:

"You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself." Matthew 22:37-40

“Count me in!

Jonah's response was essentially, “Count me out.” But when God called Abram, he responded by stepping out in faith: “So Abram went, as the LORD had told him…” -Genesis 12:4

Abram didn’t have every detail. He simply trusted God and went.

This Sunday our sermon is titled “Why Obedience to God Matters Today!”

In the Book of Jonah Chapter 1, Jonah runs from God. In Jonah 2, he faces the consequences of his choice but ultimately submits to God’s will. In Jonah 3, Jonah receives a second chance to fulfill God’s calling. Though the assignment brings challenges, Jonah obeys the Lord.

In chapters 1–2, Jonah runs from God, and his disobedience leaves chaos in its wake. In chapter 3, we see that God does not ignore Jonah’s sin—yet He graciously gives Jonah another opportunity to obey His will and walk in His ways.

Jonah — Lessons from the Life of a Runner!

This Sunday at Bella Vista Community Church, the sermon title is, “Overcoming Life’s Rough Patches.”

When Jonah ran from God, God sent a great fish—not to punish him, but to preserve his life and fulfill His purpose for the people of Nineveh. From the belly of that fish, Jonah cried out to God in his distress, showing us what God’s people can do when life becomes difficult.

As we prepare for worship this Sunday at 10:00 AM, take a moment to ask yourself: Where am I experiencing distress right now? Come ready to discover three wise action steps that can move us through trouble and back into a renewed sense of mission and purpose in the Lord.

This Sunday, we will continue reflecting on Paul’s heartfelt prayers in Ephesians. In our first week together, my prayer was that wherever you are in your walk with God that you will come to know Him better.

In week two, I shared that my prayer for you is that the eyes of your heart will be enlightened so you can understand spiritual truth.

In week three, I shared that my prayer is that God will strengthen you in your inner being.

Our final sermon in this series is a prayer with the potential to change the course of your life forever!

The Apostle Paul recorded nine prayers in the New Testament, and in Ephesians we find two of his most powerful prayers for believers. Last week our Pastor's prayer was that the “Holy Spirit will help you know God better.” (Ephesians 1:17)

A Full-Circle Journey of Faith: The Son of a Bella Vista Church Planter Returns to Serve the Community

God has a remarkable way of bringing stories full circle.

Nearly four decades ago, retired U.S. Air Force Chaplain Destry "Dusty" Cowell's father planted Judson Baptist Church in Bella Vista, a congregation that would later become Forest Hills Church and touch countless lives throughout the community.

Now, after 34 years of pastoral ministry serving churches in Idaho, Oregon, Kansas, and Indiana, Dusty has answered God's call to return to Bella Vista as the new Pastor of Bella Vista Community Church, beginning July 1, 2026.

For Dusty and his wife, Debbie, this is much more than a new ministry assignment. It is a return to a community that has been part of their family's story for decades.

"Of all the places God could have called us, there is something especially meaningful about Bella Vista," Dusty shared. "This community has been part of our family's story for decades, and Debbie and I are excited to begin this new chapter here."

Dusty has devoted his life to faithfully preaching God's Word, strengthening local churches, and shepherding God's people. Debbie has spent more than 30 years serving others as a Home Health Care nurse. Together, they are excited to put down roots in Northwest Arkansas and become part of the Bella Vista community once again.

This Sunday at Bella Vista Community Church, Pastor Dusty begins a four-week series entitled "My Prayer for You", exploring the powerful prayers of the Apostle Paul. We will begin with Ephesians 1:15–23, exploring the first half of Paul's prayer and what it means for our lives today.
