Redemption Church

In order to understand who we are at Redemption | CHURCH, it is first important to understand how God is the author of true redemption.

In fact, the very existence of mankind is designed to be one huge redemption story which unfolds to our good and to the glory of God! Because mankind is born with a sin nature, every person is in need of redemption ( Romans 3:10, 3:23, 5:12 ; Ecclesiastes 7:20 ; 1 John 1:10). The amazing news is that through Jesus Christ, God has provided a way of redemption to any who would believe in Him throug

h faith ( John 3:16 ; Romans 5:8, 6:23, 10:9-10 ; 1 John 1:9)! In addition to redeeming mankind, God's redemption can also be seen in and through life's situations. This is where the story of Redemption | CHURCH comes in:

In early 2018, a little traditional country Baptist Church in Bell, Florida called Pleasant Hill Baptist Church was struggling to grow and remain fruitful. The membership had dwindled and the remaining few were at a point of discussing closure of the church. Eugene Strickland had just been ordained into ministry and was seeking God to lead him to a church in need of a pastor. Eugene was invited to visit Pleasant Hill in view of a call. At first, pastor Eugene was unsure about pastoring the church , but God continued to impress upon Eugene and his family that this was the assignment for him. The church called Eugene as pastor in February of 2018. During his first year, Pastor Eugene along with the remaining church members started considering the idea that God may be leading the church to some sort of a "fresh start".

2019, would bring many updates to the church building and property. Additionally, the pastors cast a fresh vision and direction for the church. After cycling through "27 - billion" possible names, the pastors finally arrived on something that "struck a chord" - Redemption | CHURCH! The church members loved the name and in December of 2019, the church voted to adopt the new vision, new mission, and new name. On Jan 1, 2020, Redemption | CHURCH officially and legally became an entity. As we move into 2021 and beyond, God is making His redemptive ways visible. Redemption | CHURCH is seeing growth, participating in missions, making disciples, engaging the community, and is ALIVE and thriving! ALL GLORY TO GOD!!! Redemption | CHURCH supports the SBC and is a member of the Lafayette Baptist Association.
