ANGELS – THE BAD ONES
(Jude 6)
9/6/2026

I. THEY ARE CREATED BEINGS (Psalm 148:2a & 5)
A. Personal Beings: A conscious individual capable of self-awareness, reason, emotion, able to choose between right and wrong and be held accountable for their actions.
1. Intelligent (Mark 1:24)
2. Will (II Peter 2:4)
3. Emotion (Matthew 8:29)

B. Spirit Beings (Ephesians 2:2; Hebrews 1:14)
C. Limited Beings (Psalm 148:2a & 5)
D. Condemned Beings (Matthew 25:41; II Peter 2:4; Jude 6)

II. THEY HAVE EVIL WORK (Jude 6)
A. Rebellion Defined: Organized force resisting an established authority for the purpose of taking control.
B. They Serve Only Satan (Matthew 12:24; Revelation 12:7-10)
C. They Oppose Everything Of God
D. They Focus On People
1. To bring physical harm (Matthew 17:14-18)
2. To bring emotional harm (Luke 8:27-29)
3. To bring spiritual harm (II Peter 2:4; Jude 6)
E. They Influence Nations (Daniel 10:13)
F. They Promote False Doctrine ( I Timothy 4:1-5)

III. THEY ATTACK GOD’S CREATION
A. Demon Possession
Possession Defined: Demon(s) residing within a person directing the mind and body.
1. They are recorded in Scripture
2. Some symptoms: -Physical disease and ailments -Mental disease and disorders -BUT not always (Mark 1:32-34; Luke 7:20-21; 9:1)
3. Can a Believer be demon possessed? (John 14:16-17)
B. Demon Oppression Oppression Defined: Prolonged unjust or cruel exercise of power over others resulting in severe physical and mental hardship.
1. The temptations of Christ (Matthew 4:1-11)
2. Some symptoms: -An antagonist (II Peter 2) -Physical struggles (Job 1 & 2) -Circumstances (Job 3-25; Acts 16:16-40)
3. Can a Believer be oppressed?

APPLICATION: Our Theme for 2026, “Be God’s Blessing” (John 3:17)
1. Demons DO NOT do the tormenting in hell; they are the ones being tormented. Matthew 25:41 says, “The eternal fire is prepared for the devil and his angels.” This is also the place of those who reject Jesus.
2. Satan and his demons are not winning – not even close! In fact, they offer no competition for God – his plan will be completed just as he planned it. We do not need to protect God’s plan; we just need to make sure we are growing spiritually so the world can see what God is doing in our lives.
3. There is not a demon behind ever sickness, disease or ailment. All these things are part of the curse of sin and just come to all of mankind. The enemy cannot create these things, but they can and do use them to keep mankind’s heart from seeing God,

2. No human ever becomes an angel. God created a set amount and that very large number has never nor will ever change.

3. Angels never act independently. Good angels serve God while bad angels serve Satan. Both good and bad angels are limited by God in their power and activities.

4. Angels are well organized to serve God and protect Christians from Satan’s attacks. So Christ’s Church needs to be well organized to serve God and protect our Christian brothers and sisters.
