Church is just different outside.

This Sunday we gathered under the open sky for worship, a message from Hebrews 4 on rest, and a cookout. Pastor Phil reminded us that real rest is not found in a perfect schedule or easier circumstances. Rest is an act of trust, and Jesus is trustworthy.

We learned....
1) Real rest is promised by God, but easy to miss
2) Rest is a fruit of your trust in God
3) Rest is experienced through belief

Rest is not something just for summer vacations, but can be found in every season secure in a faithful God.

After the service, we stayed for shared food, caught up with friends, watched kids run around, and simply enjoyed being together. Sundays like this are a good reminder that church is more than a service we attend. It’s a community we grow in, a place to belong, and a people learning to follow Jesus together.

We’re grateful for everyone who joined us and helped make the day happen. Fall is here, and we’re excited for what’s ahead.

Join us next week as we launch a new series through the Psalms: Songs for the Soul!

You can sit in the same room with people every week and still not really know them.

Paul closes Ephesians by sending Tychicus to tell the church how he is doing (Ephesians 6:21). That might seem like a small detail, but it reveals something important about Christian community. We are supposed to care about what is happening in one another’s lives. We are called to be invested in each other.

Healthy relationships rarely drift apart all at once. More often, we simply stop asking questions, stop following up, and stop noticing. This week, slow down enough to pay attention. Remember something someone told you. Ask the second question. Send the text. Make the call.

Being in the same room is not the same thing as being in someone’s life.

This week we wrapped up our Better Together series by asking one final question: What will help us keep being better together over the long haul?

Paul’s closing words in Ephesians reminded us that healthy Christian community takes intentionality.

We learned how we can stay connected by....
1) Taking an interest in one another
2) Encouraging each other
3) Building our relationships on the gospel

Better Together is not accomplished once but it is something we keep choosing in Jesus.

And we got to live that out in a really practical way through Impact Sunday. Teams served at a nursing home, packed care packages for teachers, prayer walked neighborhoods, and found simple ways to love and serve our community.

We also celebrated Promotion Sunday, prayed over our students as they head into a new school year, and recognized our rising 6th graders as they move out of Connecting Kids and into what’s next.

A full Sunday of worship, prayer, serving, encouraging, and celebrating.
This is what it looks like to keep choosing to be Better Together.

Join us next week for an outdoor worship service and cookout!

Today we are praying for our students, teachers, and families as they head back to school.

A new school year usually means new routines, new pressures, new people, new expectations. the Bible reminds us that we do not walk into any of it alone.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding; in all your ways know him, and he will make your paths straight.” — Proverbs 3:5–6

We pray for more than good grades, smooth schedules, or easy days. Pray that students would grow in wisdom and courage, that teachers would have patience and strength, and that parents would lead with grace while giving any worries to the Lord. Most of all, pray that each of us would learn to trust Jesus in the ordinary moments of the school year.

God is already present in every classroom, hallway, commute, practice, and conversation ahead.

Have a great 2026-2027 school year!
