Following service at First United Methodist Church of Beeville, we will be going to our sister church, Jones Chapel to reconsecrate the Bible that was once stolen, found, and now returned home at 11am.

BIBLE FOUND!!!! Thanks be to God the Bible has been founded and returned to Jones Chapel United Methodist Church! Thank you to everyone who shared our post, gave information, and prayed for us through this. Thank you to our police department for all their work to return the Bible. We are so joyful the Bible is back home! Thank you Lord!!!

We are asking for help from the Beeville community. Our sister church, Jones Chapel United Methodist, was broken into. While the person or people were in here they stole the Bible that sits on the altar. This Bible has been in the church since 1888 when the church was established. We are asking for this Bible to be returned. This Bible has historical and personal value. If you have any information or have the Bible please contact and return it to Beeville First United Methodist. This has caused a lot distress. Please keep our sister church in your prayers and for the return of the Bible.

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there and to every type of dad. Here is a poem written by our own Mary Joyce Peterson:

“I never had a father
cause ‘Daddy’ was his name.
He loved my mother very much

He was the best father
That anyone could have.
He was my friend through all the years
And was a great granddad.
