Benedictine sisters have helped women strengthen their ministries as Protestant clergy through a program called Women Touched by Grace, which holds five weeklong retreats at Benedictine monasteries over two years.

Let's celebrate Sr. Mary Luke Jones, the mind and heart of WTBG! Luke recently received the Lantz Center Medallion for Christian Service from her alma mater, the University of Indianapolis for "the remarkable work she has done of the years in creating and developing the Women Touched by Grace program...." . We couldn't agree more. Not only has this program profoundly impacted the lives of all of us who are WTBG women, but our communities and the ecumenical community. While we all know that WTBG has been a collaborative effort from the beginning because Luke is a collaborator, it would not have happened or continue on without your broad vision and wonderful heart, Luke. Thank you for blessing and changing our lives.

Bishop Laurie Larson Ceasar in the news!

Laurie Larson Caesar became the first female Lutheran bishop in Oregon Saturday, Dec. 14, 2019. She was installed during a service at TrinityEpiscopal Cathedral in Northwest Portland. During her tenure, she will oversee 30,000Lutherans in 111 congregations throughout the state. Mark Graves/Staff
