Tonight we celebrated the Women of Hope as they graduated, and it was a beautiful Wednesday night service.
There were tears, emotions, smiles, and so much gratitude as we reflected on all that God has done in the lives of these precious ladies. Seeing how far the Lord has brought them is a testimony in itself. His grace, mercy, and faithfulness have carried them through every season, and tonight was a celebration of His goodness.
It was a blessing to see our BBPC family gather around these women and celebrate this milestone with them. We love these ladies and are thankful to be a part of what God is doing in their lives. As they continue forward, we believe their testimonies—still to come—will encourage others, strengthen faith, and remind people that no situation is beyond the reach of God’s hand.
After the graduation, Sister Sonja shared from Genesis 35 and spoke from her heart about identity. She reminded us that many people have been labeled by their past or by their pain. At some point, someone has defined us by our mistakes, failures, hurts, or circumstances, and those labels can become something we carry for years. Sometimes we even avoid certain places or opportunities because we fear that people only see who we used to be.
But when the Father steps into the room, everything changes.
In Genesis 35:18, Rachel named her son Ben-Oni, meaning “son of my sorrow,” but Jacob called him Benjamin, meaning “son of my right hand.” What a powerful reminder that God does not leave us identified by our pain. While others may try to define us by our past, God speaks purpose over our lives. He sees beyond what we’ve been through and calls us according to His promise.
The message was a powerful reminder that we are not who people say we are—we are who God says we are. The past does not have the final word. Pain does not have the final word. Shame does not have the final word. God does.
The service concluded with a moving altar call as hearts were lifted and lives were touched in the presence of the Lord. It was a sacred moment of prayer, worship, and gratitude for all He has done.
Tonight was more than a graduation. It was a reminder that God is still restoring, still healing, still delivering, and still writing beautiful stories of redemption.
As the Word of God declares in Deuteronomy 28:13, “And the Lord shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath.” What a promise over the lives of His people.
We are so proud of these women and thankful for what God is doing in their lives—and we look forward to all He is still going to do.
