What To Do When My Heart Is Heavy?

In today’s A Word from Grace, Pastor James reminds us that we don’t have to carry the weight of a heavy heart alone. God is with us, He strengthens us, and He invites us to surrender our burdens to Him.

Last night, our Men’s Ministry gathered for our 3rd Annual Men’s BBQ! It was a fun time of food, fellowship, a co****le tournament, and an encouraging message from our guest speaker, Beau Po***ck.

What to Do When We Need God’s Provision?
A Word from Grace by Pastor James

“All creatures look to you to give them their food at the proper time. When you give it to them, they gather it up; when you open your hand, they are satisfied with good things.” Psalm 104:27–28
​
We all have needs, wants, and desires. Sometimes we ask God to provide something we want, and when it doesn’t happen, we can become discouraged and wonder if He is meeting our needs. Yet every day, He gives us breath in our lungs and provides what we need for today.
​
When Jesus taught His model of prayer, He said, “Give us this day our daily bread” (Matthew 6:11). There is something powerful about trusting God for what we need today, rather than worrying about tomorrow.
​
This daily dependence keeps us connected to God. It’s about wanting more of God Himself rather than simply wanting something from Him. As we come to Him each day, our relationship grows, building greater confidence, trust, and hope in Him.
​
God’s provision isn’t about getting everything we want; it’s about trusting that our needs are met in Him. We can come into His presence with our requests, knowing that whatever we need for this day, strength, wisdom, grace, or provision, is available in Him.
​
Lord, give us what we need for today and help us trust You with tomorrow.

What to Do When I Need Spiritual Focus?

“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.” -Psalm 1:1-3

We all desire to live a blessed life, and God’s blessing is not beyond our reach. But understanding what it truly means to be blessed is different from simply wanting to be blessed.
​
Being blessed by God isn’t measured by possessions, success, or material things. It’s found in the strength and confidence that come from being rooted in God’s Word and walking closely with Him. It means continuing to grow, overcome, and live a life that honors God and impacts those around us.
​
Being blessed doesn’t mean life will be without challenges. It means we can continue to grow and stand firm through them. We won’t live perfectly or without error, but we can live with purpose and meaning.
​
How is this possible? By choosing God’s Word to lead and guide our steps. By leaning into Him and His ways instead of our own. By quieting our voice to hear His and loving Him with our whole heart, soul, mind, and strength.
​
He sees us. He hears us. He sustains us.
Therefore, I am blessed.
