Congratulations to Rev. Rachel Wildman, our former seminarian, Curate, and Assistant Priest- who is now the Rector of Trinity Episcopal Church in Stoughton after 3 years as their priest in charge. A lovely Celebration of New Ministry was held last night, complete with a sermon by our former Rector, Chris Wendell, who spoke about Rachel's amazing gifts. He said that he was fulfilling a promise he made to her 10+ years ago that if she became a Rector of her own parish, he would preach at her installation.
While we miss Rachel, we are thrilled for her and happy for the parishioners of Trinity who are so blessed to have her leading them.

Dear Friends,

This Sunday we celebrate Trinity Sunday, a yearly celebration to mark what, I think, is one of the greatest mysteries of our Christian life: the doctrine of the Trinity, or one God in three persons, known as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Wrapping our heads around the Trinity can be hard . . . how can God be three persons? At once? All equal yet diverse? It makes no sense!

Instead of trying to fully explain the Trinity, sometimes I think it best to celebrate it as an unfathomable and beautiful mystery. God’s love and reality are vastly larger than my finite human comprehension. The Trinity makes real that God is not some isolated or distant presence, but a community of three persons eternally bound in mutual love, rooting our faith life in beautiful relationality. God's triune nature demonstrates what perfect love and unity looks like, without sameness or hierarchy. For Christian communities, this functions as a model of inclusivity and belonging amidst diversity, and shows us what mature love can look like.

Celebrating the Trinity each year invites us to renew our commitment as a church to work for deeper connection, dialogue, and love for the world, which we know is so needed during this time.

We hope you will join us this week to mark this important - yet mysterious - feast day!

In Christ,
Rev. Molly+
