Recap: Memorial Brick Installation & Community Day ✝️🧱
What a beautiful morning! On Saturday, nearly 30 members of our community gathered to install and honor the Saints of Lutheran Church of the Savior — and it was more meaningful than we could have imagined.
The installation itself took about two hours, with hearts and hands working together to ensure each brick found its rightful place. We finished just in time to gather around the grill for a wonderful cookout lunch — hamburgers, hot dogs, and the kind of easy conversation that only happens among people who share something special.
The stories were the true highlight. As family members placed their loved ones' bricks, memories flowed freely — laughter, tears, and everything in between. Moments like these remind us why we do this: to ensure those who came before us are never forgotten.

🧱✝️ Honoring Our Saints: Memorial Brick Installation & Community Day ✝️🧱

📅 Saturday, June 6, 2026 | 9:30 AM
📍 The Lutheran Church of the Savior

Join us for a meaningful day of remembrance, service, and fellowship as we install approximately 50 memorial bricks honoring the beloved members of our LCS family who have gone before us into glory.

This is more than a workday — it's a celebration of lives well-lived and faith well-shared.

Three to four volunteer teams will work side-by-side to set each brick into place, ensuring our loved ones are remembered and cherished for generations to come.

🙌 How You Can Be Part of It:

Roll up your sleeves with an installation team, or join our hospitality crew serving fresh morning coffee and a classic cookout lunch — hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, water, and soda — for all our hardworking volunteers.

💛 Most Importantly — Bring a Memory:

Come ready to share a favorite memory of an LCS Saint. A story, a laugh, a moment of grace — every memory adds another brick to the foundation of who we are as a community.

Whether you can lend your hands, your stories, or simply your presence, we would love to have you with us.

🌿 All are welcome.
Come for an hour, stay for the day — every contribution matters. ❤️

Given our discussion on "grieving the Holy Spirit" in Ephesians 4:30 today in Bible study, here's the relevant section of the Formula of Concord that is cited when discussing what the Holy Spirit does when we willfully sin:

This unabridged version of the Formula of Concord presents sound biblical doctrine on controversies that had arisen a generation after Luther.

✨ May Fellowship Luncheon Recap — See You in June! ✨

What a beautiful way to celebrate the Ascension of Christ together in fellowship! Our May Fellowship Luncheon was a truly special gathering — filled with warm conversation, heartfelt devotion, and an absolutely delicious meal shared among dear friends.

Pastor led us in a devotion drawn from Nils Jacob Laache's reflections on Acts 1:1–11, focusing on the transition from Christ's earthly ministry to His heavenly reign. A powerful reminder that the Ascension is not an absence — it is a new and glorious way for Jesus to be present with His Church. Themes of witness, patience, and the certainty of Christ's return filled our hearts as we gathered around the table.

What a perfect reminder of the hope and new life we share in Christ. 🙏

🔥 This month's food theme? GRILLING — and our kitchen team absolutely delivered!

🍽️ The Menu:
🥗 Strawberry, Feta & Spinach Salad
🍞 Golden Cornbread
🥔 Classic Potato Salad
🌽 Grilled Corn Salad
🥩 Barbecued Pork Tenderloin
🫐🍒 Blueberry or Cherry Pie — à la Maude!

Every dish was crafted with love, fresh ingredients, and a whole lot of heart. Truly a meal to remember!

Whether you're joining us for the first time or you've been part of our family for years — there is ALWAYS a place at the table for you. Our fellowship is richer because you're in it. ❤️

Dive Deeper Into Scripture This Sunday!

Looking for a Bible study with real depth and meaning? Join us as
Pastor leads a verse-by-verse study through the book of Ephesians — one of Paul's most powerful letters on grace, identity, and life in Christ.

Ever wondered what the text actually says in the original Greek? No problem! Pastor is fluent in Koine Greek and loves unpacking the rich nuances that often get lost in translation.
Whether you're a longtime believer or just curious, come ready to learn, ask questions, and grow in your faith.

When: Sundays at 9:30 AM What to bring: Your Bible, your questions, and an open heart

We'd love to see you there!
