BFCOG Mission Adventures

BFCOG Mission Adventures God, by His very nature is a "Sending God", who constantly takes the initiative to redeem His creation. The church is God's only plan to see this come to be.

Jesus said to "GO" & share the Gospel to the 4 parts of the world (Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, & the uttermost parts of the world)
Therefore, we envision offering mission experiences locally, to the not so good areas, nationally & internationally. Therefore, the church must be made of "sent people of God", the instrument of His mission to save a lost & dying world. We tend to say, "the church has a

mission", by what we should say is that "the Mission has a church" By being missional in character, we the church must engage the world the same way that Jesus did---By "Going Out", rather than just "reaching out". May we all find "God's mission for us, whether it be across the pond, or next door.

Walk in the light, so you can reflect some of it, in these dark days...

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.

What's on the Mission Horizon?

Right now, BFCOG is once again supporting Samaritan's Purse in two different ways:
1) we've collected monies to send to them for Hurricane Disaster Relief
2) we are in the midst of the annual Operation Christmas Child Shoebox project. Pre-printed boxes & labels are available to pick up in the Welcome Center area. Deadline to bring the boxes back, filled with lots of goodies, is November 13th.

2) Nashville, TN 1 Day Mission Trip
(December 13th and 14th). This will be our 6th year to travel down to minister to the homeless and less unfortunate people's of this great City. We will once again partner with compassion church, and Mission 615, as we feed hundreds of homeless people, give out clothing and other necessities, and share the love of Christ. Right now we have a team of about 21 persons, ready to go & be on Mission. The cost for this trip includes a one-night hotel stay and two meals

It's not too late to join the team. Brother Trent Freed, Associate Pastor - BFCOG

It's been a little bit since we've posted on this site. Certainly, are still about sharing the gospel and offering Mission experiences to the church.

This year we have had these Mission experiences, thus far:

1) May 2024-About 7-8 persons drove up to Brown County, near Nashville, IN, to the New Song Mission site.
They provide a nurturing, educational campus community where children live and receive love, guidance, and academic instruction in a family-like, Christian environment, to the glory of God.

Our task was to help them w**d eat, clean up landscape gardens, install a new monkey bar set, and put together a basketball goal. We all had a great time, and then later, met over in little Nashville for supper.

2) June 2024- About 10 persons travel to the country of Thailand, to share the gospel message, participate in worship services, and be a witness to God's word. Their main task was evangelistic in nature, and they all came back with great stories of how the Lord worked.

My son, Justin & took a trip yesterday, in behalf of the Bedford 1st Church of God "Go Ye Mission Endeavor", to David, KY. This was in the SE area of the state, that was hit by severe flooding, back in July.
We delivered lots of clothing, some food, over 20 cases of water, cleaning items, hygiene supplies, Bibles, money donations, etc. to the St. Vincent's Mission.
They minister to the many needy of this impoverished region one the country. We got to tour the facility (Thrift Shop, Food Pantry, Training area, supply warehouse, Maintenance Shop, garden area, etc.)
They were so kind to put us up, one night's stay in the Volunteer House & allwed us to borrow the Compound vehicle last eve to drive into Prestonburg, KY, for supper.

I got to talk directly & pray with a lady that has experienced numerous losses in her life, in the recent past: including the passing of her husband, su***de of a relative following the flooding, many neighbors around here losing their homes, or succumbing to drownings;as well as the total destruction of her home. To top that off, she's also battling with cancer. Fortunately, she's qualified for the government program that allowed a group from New Jersey to come down help build her a new home. However, thousands of people are still trying to rebuild from their losses. We blessed her with little cash donation to help her in the process of rebuilding her life. She's been staying at the Mission House, until she gets back on her feet.

This morning we got up bright and early to unload our trailer, and to donate supplies to this mission. They had a group of lady volunteers that assisted us. Before we left, we had prayer with them and said our goodbyes.

Thanks to Sister Kathryn Weigand & Erin Bottomless for letting us come down & partner with them.

We may come down again & bring a team with us next time.
