"He Raised His Son"
Pliny the Elder, was a Roman writer who lived during the same time period as Jesus Christ. He told the story of the setting of the obelisk, which when erected would stand 99 feet tall.
Twenty thousand workers were chosen to pull the ropes that activated the hoisting apparatus. There was great responsibility and risk in the operation. Just one error could cause this obelisk to fall, ruining years of work.
The king demanded one act which insured the complete attention and best direction of the engineer. The king ordered his own son to be strapped to the apex of the obelisk, so that the engineer's heart as well as his head would be given to the task.
One day on Calvary, God's only be gotten Son was raised before a sinful, jeering crowd, as the Father watched intently from Heaven. The heart and mind of God were directed toward Jesus Christ on the day our Lord was raised. There, above the heads of mankind, Jesus hung in death so that we might know eternal life.
Remember Jesus' words when He said: "I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto myself" (John 12:32 NIV).
Jesus was raised for you and me.

"Prayer For Peace and Protection"
Dear Heavenly Father,
Cover me and my family in Your divine protection today. Block every weapon formed against us and silence every voice that speaks harm. Fill our hearts with peace where there is fear, strength where there is weaknesses, and joy where there is heaviness.
Surround us with Your light and guide our steps toward Your purpose. Let everyone and everything sent to distract, drain, or destroy us be removed by Your hand. Replace it with love, clarity, and blessings that overflow.
In Jesus name, Amen.

"Overcoming Discouragement"
1 Samuel 27
Do you ever feel downhearted or discouraged? Well, it is fairly certain that you occasionally do, for discouragement is a very common ailment. There was a time in David's life when he reached the point of despair, but he did come out of it. How was he able to overcome his discouragement? Notice the antidote that David applies to his life found in 1 Samuel 30:6: "And David was greatly distressed ... but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God".
These are the things that David did. First, he sought the presence of God. Get into the presence of the Lord and tell God everything.
Secondly, he shared in the fellowship with the people of God. There is a great value in sharing our joys, sorrows, and discouragement with others who are like-minded.
Thirdly, David leaned hard upon the promises of God.
Is there anything, anywhere, that will more quickly banish discouragement than God's wonderful promises? David remembered the providence of God. We must never forget God's ability to make all things work together for good in our lives. The next time you are discouraged, think on these things.

"Sin Separates"
Isaiah 59:1-8
"But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear."
The Bible says that sin separates; it comes between man and God.
Sin is like a great canyon, with man on one side and God on the other. A canyon can never be removed; it will always be there. And it is useless to try and fill up a canyon.
But when a bridge is put across the canyon, a man can cross it as if no canyon ever existed there. Forgiveness of our sins is like a bridge. A bridge allows us to have eternal life, even though there is sin which otherwise would separate us from God.
Sin is also like a cut or break in a electrical wire. There must be a perfect connection from the source to the light bulb before there can be any light in the light bulb. Sin separates our connection with God. Forgiveness is like a splice in a wire. It does not take a brand new wire to complete the circuit, but there must be a wire in which every single break has been repaired.
Sin separates man from God. There is only one way for man to get back to God; and that is through His Son, Jesus Christ.

"Some Good Cheap Perfume"
John 12:3-8
Years ago when money was a little scarcer I decided to get my wife some perfume. I walked into a nice store and told the lady I wanted some real good cheap perfume. She looked at me with contempt or pity, I could not tell which, and then she said, "There is no such thing."
I think I ended up buying my wife a nice iron. Who needs that old perfume anyway?
But isn't this what a lot of folks are looking for today in religion? Some good cheap religion. The answer is the same. There is no such thing. Many want something that will make them feel good about themselves ... smell good without being good. They want something that could be splashed on and cover their problems without ever solving the problems.
They want to attend a few church services when it is convenient; say a few prayers when they are in trouble; sing a few songs when they feel good; and give a little money if there is any left over in hopes somehow that this will sway the great judge.
But what really is needed is a good cleansing, the cleaning up of one's life and the putting on of Jesus Christ. For Jesus Christ is the perfume that God has provided for us that we might smell sweet to Him.

Call upon the Lord Jesus Christ, and He will bless you.
John 1:12: But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.

"God's Blessing on the Children of Israel"
Numbers 6:24-26
24) The Lord bless thee, and keep thee:
25) The Lord make his face to shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
26) The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
I believe that since the Gentile nation was engrafted in, God blesses all His children everywhere. Are you a child of God?

Job1:1-6
Job 1 speaks of Job's greatness.
In verse 2 we see that Job had seven sons and three daughters.
We see in verse 4 that the sons went and feasted "partied" and the sons invited the sisters to come eat and drink with them.
In verse 5 we see how Job after they we done feasting, sent and sanctified them. He offered burnt offerings for each one of them. Someone said Job being a man of God how come his children didn't obey him? All of us need to know that we are living in a fallen world and the Devil works on everyone.
All of us need to be praying a hedge of protection over our children. God is watching over you and your family. Learn to thank Him for that. We also need to know that Satan is watching also and will do everything he can to get your children and loved ones to fall.

"Who God Uses"
Matthew 5:16: "Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven."
In Jacksonville, Florida, the story is told about a lifeguard who suddenly jumps to his feet on the watchtower. A man appears to be struggling for his life in the water. The lifeguard jumps down grabs his buoy and rushed out into the water. With strong strokes, he swam to the man. In a few seconds, sirens wailed as an ambulance pulled up. Three other lifeguards swam to help. They rescued the man, gave him CPR. Scores of people gathered around. Everyone was deeply moved, as the man revived.
Now in the main lifeguard station in Jacksonville, Florida, today, there hangs a sign in red letters: "If in doubt, go."
If there is doubt in your mind about a person knowing Christ, speak to him. And, let him see Christ in you.

Heavenly Father,

As we approach this Memorial Day weekend, we come before You with grateful hearts. We give thanks for the men and women who served and sacrificed for our nation, for those who gave their lives in defense of freedom, and for all who stood courageously so that others might live in peace and liberty. Bless their families, comfort those who still mourn, and let us never take lightly the price that was paid for the blessings we enjoy today.

Lord, bless those who continue to serve and preserve these freedoms each day — our warfighters, first responders, and all who stand watch over this nation. Grant them protection, wisdom, courage, and strength. May they know that their service matters and that their sacrifices are seen by You. God bless the warfighter, and keep them under Your mighty hand.

Father, make us people of courage and conviction. Give us boldness to speak out against injustice and to be a voice for the voiceless. Let us be found worthy servants to the sick, the homebound, the oppressed, and the forgotten. Teach us to defend the vulnerable, to love our neighbors well, and to carry ourselves with humility, honor, and compassion.

May all who live under the blanket of freedom recognize You as Lord and God, the true Savior, Protector, and King above all nations. Let our lives reflect Your goodness, Your truth, and Your light in a world that desperately needs You.

Bless this day and all that You would have us to be. Strengthen us so that we may strengthen one another. Unite us in purpose, guide our steps, and help us walk in faith, integrity, and gratitude in all we do.

We thank You for this country, for those who defend it, and for the opportunity to serve others in Your name.

In Jesus’ name we pray,

AMEN!
