"It's Up To You"
Lamentations 3:24-25
Take a piece of wax, a piece of meat, some sand, some clay, and some shavings, now put all these items upon a fire and see how they react. Each of these items is being acted upon by the same agent, the fire. Yet, the wax melts, the meat fries , the sand dries up, and the clay hardens, the shavings blaze.
Likewise under identical influence of circumstances and environment one man is made better, he becomes stronger. Another man is made weaker, while others wither away.
This explains why one can hear the Word of God and is made better. Still another can hear the Word, the very same thing, and is made angry. It is not so much what is done to us, but what we do that determines our destiny. Take heed how you hear and act upon the Word of God.

"The Proverbs of Solomon"
Proverbs 1:5-6
5) A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:
6) To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings.
Do you understand what the Solomon is saying here? It is simple. If you are wise, you will listen to what is being said and obey. The home of the wicked will lead to troubles.

"Lord's Prayer"
Matthew 6:9-13
After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen

"Your Money or Your Life"
1 Timothy 6:10
It seems reasonably clear that in our time, money is the largest single factor in people's refusal to place their trust in the rule of God. We hear it all around us. Life would be much easier, so much better, if only I had more money. Yet, Jesus has warned us in that money is the greatest of all threats to our love relationship with God. The more we put our trust in money and possessions, the less we put our trust in God. You cannot serve God and money, Jesus says. You must choose to place your trust in one or the other. It is either your money or your life.
A perfect illustration of this is an old jack Benny routine in which a thief puts a gun in Benny's ribs and says, "Your money or your life!" Jack Benny does not answer. Again the thief says, "Your money or your life!" Jack still says nothing. The thief becomes very impatience saying, "Answer me! Your money or your life!" Then Jack replies, "I'm thinking! I'm thinking!"
Our money and our possessions are intended as a means of expressing our love for God. Depending upon how you aquire it and how you use it, your money either threatens your relationship with God or it enhances it. The question is which?
1 Timothy 6:10 states: "For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows."

"Not Cheap Junk"
1 John 5:11-12
11) And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
12) He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
When I was a little boy, Mitchell had a dime store that had a cap pistol, that was a dime. But it was not really worth a dime. After you fired it a few times the little spring broke and the hammer would not function anymore. Such a purchase was expensive at any price. A wise consumer knows not to buy junk, because however cheap it is, it is the most expensive thing that can be bought.
One of Satan's major appeals is his pride. He is very competitive. He advertises his way of life to be much cheaper, that is, it can be lived easier and with much less effort and cost. But what he does not tell is that his sinful, easy ways do not work very well, or very long even in this life, and that they are worse than useless for the next life.
1 Timothy 6:6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.
1 Timothy 6:7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
Jesus Loves You.

"Who Were Jesus's Disciples?"
Mark 3:15 And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils:
16) And Simon he surnamed Peter;
17) And James the son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James; and he surnamed them Boanerges, which is, The sons of thunder:
18) And Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Canaanite,
19) And Judas Iscariot, which also betrayed him: and they went into an house.
What about Mark and Luke? They were evangelists. Mark was taught by the Apostle Peter, and Luke was taught by the Apostle Paul.

"The Church As A Team"
Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
9) Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.
10) For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.
The story is told of a horse-pull in Canada. One horse pulled 9,000 pounds, another 8,000. Together you would expect those horses to pull 17,000 pounds. But that is not so! When teamed together, they actually pull 30,000 pounds.
The simultaneous action of separate agents working together has a greater total effect than the sum of their individual efforts. In other words, more can be done in a team effort than can be accomplished solo. In order for this principle to work as it should, there has to be teamwork.
Everything we do takes teamwork and trust. Ball teams have to work together to win the game, in marriages a wife and a husband have to work together to make the marriage work, and churches each person in the local church is valuable and needed. The church is a team and together they build for the Lord.
Let's all work together to help build God's kingdom. We will find that when we work together, we are inseparable.
Remember to read Ecclesiastes 4:9-12.

"The Blessings of Satisfaction"
Psalm 5:11 But let all that put their trust in the Lord rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defended them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.
Once upon a time there lived on the banks of the River Dee, a miller who was the happiest man in England. He was always busy from morning until night. He was always singing as merrily as any lark. He was so cheerful that he made everybody else cheerful. The people through out the land liked to talk about his pleasant ways.
At last the king heard about him. "I will go down and talk with this wonderful miller," he said, "Perhaps he can tell me how to be happy."
As soon as he stepped inside the mill he said, "Now tell me, what makes you so cheerful and glad here in your dusty mill, while, I, the king, am sad and troubled every day?"
The miller smiled and said, "I do not know why you are sad, but I can tell you why I am glad. I earn my own bread; I love my wife and my children. I love my friends, and they love me; and I do not owe a penny to anyone. Why should I not be happy? For here is the River Dee, and everyday it turns my mill; and the mill grinds the corn that feeds my wife, my babies, and me."
True happiness comes from the simpler things of life. Why can't we remember that?

"All Have Sinned"
Romans 3:23) For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.
24) Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
We know that God through His Son, Jesus, came into this world to forgive us our sins and help us to get ready for eternity. If you were to leave this world today, do you know for sure of where you are going to spend eternity?

"God Cares
Isaiah 26:3 "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed upon thee, because he trusteth in thee."
I have always been fascinated with hummingbirds, so fragile, tiny, and beautiful. There are actually 366 different species of hummingbirds. The tiniest among them is the "bee hummingbirds". It is 2 and 1/8 inches long and half of that is tail feathers and beak. It only weighs 1.6 to 2.6 grams. This tiny bird is about the size of a bumble bee.
The bee hummingbird is the worlds' smallest bird. Cuba is the only place where the bee hummingbird can be found. The hummingbird can hover, can go up and down, sideways, and in and out with the most amazing flexibility. It flaps its wings ninety times every second. And that little bird knows that when it begins to get cold. For its own health it is best to leave northern Canada and migrate across the United States and Gulf of Mexico, all the way across the Panama Canal zone. And amazing, it knows when to turn around and come back. Just an accident? I don't think so.
Jesus in Matthew 6:26 says, "Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them".
