Starting this week, we're digging into something we don't talk about enough — friendship, and how much it shapes our faith.

Scripture doesn't treat friendship as an afterthought. "As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another." Jesus called His disciples friends. David and Jonathan's friendship shaped the course of Israel's history. Who you walk with matters — for your life, and for your walk with God.

Friendology is a new series about the friendships that make us and the friendships we're called to be. Who's sharpening you? Who are you sharpening?

What a week at Cross Point! Six people stepped into the water and came up new — declaring for everyone to see that they belong to Jesus.

Baptism doesn't save you, but it's the moment you say out loud what's already true in your heart: the old life is gone, and you're walking in the new one.

We celebrate every single one of these stories. Heaven is celebrating too.

This week we closed out the Bonfire Stories series where we focused on the stories where God showed up in fire — burning bushes, the burning alter, the firery furnace, and refining by fire — every time reminding His people who He is.

We closed it out in Isaiah 6, where the prophet meets a holy God and sees himself clearly for the first time. Vondie compared it to a goldsmith refining gold — the heat doesn't destroy it, it brings the impurities to the surface so they can be removed. Isaiah's response wasn't to hide. It was "Here am I. Send me."

Whatever this series brought to the surface in you — let Him refine it.

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego did not form their convictions in the heat of the moment. They had already settled who they belonged to long before Nebuchadnezzar's ultimatum arrived. This is the pattern of every man and woman who stands firm under pressure -- the decision is made in the quiet, ordinary days before the crisis ever appears. Faith is not built in the furnace; it is revealed there. Consider the areas of your life where compromise feels convenient. What convictions do you need to establish today, before the music plays and the crowd bows down?

Parking lot update! 🚧

Work on our parking lot paving is starting early, and the crew expects to have it finished by Saturday. That means we’ll all get to enjoy a freshly paved lot when we pull in Sunday morning!

It’s a good reminder that it’s all about God’s timing, not ours. This time, He had us waiting less than we expected. We’re praising Him that this gets done before winter and that the lot will no longer be a hazard for anyone walking through it.

See you Sunday on that new pavement! 🙌
