SOLEMNITY OF THE SACRED HEART OF JESUS: The Bishops of the United States have decided to observe the 250th Anniversary of our nation’s independence by consecration of the United States of America to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. To that end, Bishop Brennan has asked all parishes in our diocese to offer a Special Mass on the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart (Friday, June 12). Here at St. Francis de Sales, that Mass and Prayer of Consecration is scheduled for Friday, June 12 at 6:30 p.m., followed by a Holy Hour of Eucharistic Adoration from 7:30—8:30 p.m. Please join in on this special time of prayer for our country as we celebrate our 250th Birthday!

SEMINARIAN SUMMER ASSIGNMENT: Please welcome seminarian Nathan Schmidt, who has been assigned to St. Francis de Sales Parish as his Summer Pastoral Placement. This Corpus Christi weekend is the first weekend he will spend with us. Please keep Nathan and all of our seminarians in your prayers, and continue to pray for vocations to the priesthood and to the consecrated life.

CORPUS CHRISTI: This Sunday, June 7, is the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, commonly know as “Corpus Christi”. We will be holding our annual Corpus Christi Procession after the 11:00 a.m. Mass (approx. 12:00 noon). All are invited to participate in this beautiful act of witness to the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. (The Procession will move along South Oakwood Ave. between Raleigh Avenue and the Coca-Cola Plant, so it is all level). You are also invited to join us for a Pot Luck Dinner in De Sales Hall after the Procession and Benediction in the church. You are invited to bring a “side dish” to share, which can be brought to De Sales Hall before Mass. Members of the Ladies of St. Francis will be available to receive your food donations. We look forward to celebrating this important day with our faith family!
