These five fantastic youth put in the time and effort, beginning in October, to prepare meaningful Christmas Carol solos to be part of a special youth service at Light of Christ Lutheran Church, Fairborn, OH this morning! They are piano students studying with me, all are Beavercreek students.. from l to r: Clark, Grant and Vivian Weidman, Kenton Martin and Finn Dailey. As church pianist, I was asked if my students might be a part of this special time and these five made it happen! The congregation gave them a standing ovation! ..(I fought back the tears).. Special thanks to Sharon Doty for helping me with a small reception following the service!
Clark gave me a hug after and thanked me for teaching him piano.. I hope he remembers that I thanked him right back, telling him it was because I truly learn more from them than they learn from me! How grateful I remain for having such supportive, kind and thoughtful families with whom to share music as well as the wonderful members of Light of Christ Lutheran Church who encourage all who want to share time and talents! They are such a gracious group of people!
