"Scripture does not avoid moments like this. Again and again, God’s people find themselves living between promise and peril, called to faithfulness when clarity carries a cost, when naming truth has consequences, and courage requires risk. In such moments, the role of the church is not to echo the anxieties of the world, nor to seek safety in silence, but to bear witness to a deeper and more demanding truth. Every human being bears the image of God. Justice and mercy do not compete with one another. Love of neighbor does not bend to political convenience."
