Week 10: American Heroes and Heroes of the Faith 🇺🇲

This week we had 26 kids plus adults!

We learned how Nate Saint and his fellow missionaries would give gifts to the Auca Indians to become friends with them. They began to make friends, however when one of the people made false accusations against them then the Aucas became angry. When the missionaries tried to talk to them, they ended up killing all of the missionary men. 🛬

Their lives were not in vain though. Their wives continued to pray for the Auca Indians and many who heard of the their sacrifice were changed because of their story. ❤️

We then heard from another American Hero! Mrs. Kelli told us about her job as a physical therapist in the medical field. The kids were also able to try on some of the peices of equipment to experience how it felt to wear them. 👩‍⚕️🏥

We were happy to see some faces yesterday have been missing recently! Continue to keep our ministry in your prayers! 🙏

American Heroes and Heroes of the Faith - week 9 ✨️🇺🇲

This week we had 20 kids plus adults and helpers!

Our American Hero this week was a Pennsylvania State Trooper! 🚓

We learned all about what the difference is between state troopers and local police, what equipment they wear and use, and some of what their job entails. It was cool learning how many different departments there are and all the different jobs there are available besides just doing routine patrol.

The kids had fun asking questions and trying on the trooper hat and bullet proof vest. Thanks a ton to Trooper Sims for coming out and sharing about his work!

We also learned more about Nate Saint and his work to reach the Auca Indians along with his other missionary friends! Currently we have gotten to the part where they finally know where they live and are deciding what their next plan is! 🌎

American and Heroes of the Faith 🇺🇲 Week #8

This week we had around 20 some kids plus teens and helpers! ✨️

We talked about how to be a hero today and what makes someone a hero! How a hero has to be different and willing to be salt and light to the world around them. 🧂💡🌎

We did an object lesson using eggs and salt. Put the egg in water and it sinks, then put it in salt water and its supposed to float. (May not have worked exactly... but note for next time... probably need hot/warm water to dissolve better 😂) So like the salt uplifts the egg, we as Christians should uplift those around us and be a difference maker in our world.

Next we had the kids try to stack two eggs... which doesn't work. However if you put salt on the bottom egg then you can successfully stack the 2nd egg on top. So although salt is small, insignificant, and not that noticeable... it can still make a big difference.

In the same way we may think we are insignificant, not as talented as others, or think we are incapable of doing big things. But the difference is giving what we have to God and he can use a humble heart to do big things.

None of the modern or Bible heroes were perfect. They all made mistakes and even sinned... but God forgave their sin and used them despite their failures and flaws. He can use each of us as well if we're simply willing to surrender our will to His. ❤️

🇺🇸📖American Heroes and Heroes of Faith📖🇺🇸 - week 5

It was a privilege to have Mike Hallam and his team from Patriot Emergency Response to tell us about life as EMT's and Paramedics! The kids loved checking out the ambulance and getting to talk to them about their job.

We learned about the different levels of training and what they are able to do for patients. 🚑

We also heard the rest of the story of Stuart and how he kept his promise to God. He ended up being released from the military and God was faithful to him. He ended up becoming a preacher and shared the gospel until he passed away. ✝️

🇺🇸📖Heroes of the Faith and American Heroes theme week 4 📖🇺🇸

This week we had about 23 kids plus adults and helpers!

We learned this week about Abraham and Sarah from Hebrews 11 and how they had to trust God for their own little baby boy. 👶🩵

We also heard more about Stuart from our continued story and how God spared his life while fighting in the trenches. He promised God that if he survived that he would serve God the rest of his life...and next week we see if he actually keeps his promise. 🤔

Sunday we had Doc. Louisa Thomas speak for our patriotic service Sunday morning. Then Sunday night we had a patriotic youth service. We played "name that tune" with patriotic songs and also listened to a story for the evening activities.
