"To grow into a Holy Temple in the Lord, for the habitation of God through the Spirit. Built upon the foundation of the Apostles and Prophets, with Jesus Christ Himself being the Chief Cornerstone... For unto God be Glory in the Church by Christ Jesus, throughout all ages, world without end.

The Responsibility of Church Membership:

When an individual is saved, he becomes a member of the Body of Christ and is united to Christ with other members of the Body. Together they become an expression of that Body.

To formally become a member of a local church is to commit one's self to that local body of believers and its leadership. Living out that commitment requires many responsibilities:

- Live holy
- Regularly attend church services
- Serve faithfully
- Give regularly
- Pray consistently
- Preserve the spirit of unity and peace
- Preserve the purity of the church
- Subject yourselves to elders
- Participate in the work of the Church
- Evangelize the lost
- Take communion

Let us examine our hearts to determine if we are obediently living up to these commitments, making necessary corrections where needed. For it is only when membership is fully committed that the church can live up to it's holy calling!
