Butterflies are symbolic of transformation. 2nd Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore if anyone is in Christ, they are a new creation; the old has gone, and the new has come!”

We believe when one comes to know Christ their lives are transformed for the better. Sometimes this transformation is immediate, sometimes it is gradual, but it is always for the better. The love and grace of God through Jesus Christ inspires us to give up our selfish lives to follow Jesus. We want others to know that First Christian Church of Beaumont is a safe place to grow in God’s love. God doesn’t care that we are not perfect; He only cares that we love. Like butterflies pollinating flowers, we hope to spread the good news wherever we go, so that others may come to know the grace of God. A group of butterflies is called a Kaleidoscope.



Looking through a kaleidoscope changes your perspective. The world around you does not change, just the way you view it. As a Disciples of Christ congregation, we recognize that we all come to Christ, scripture, and church with different perspectives. This is not a bad thing. In fact, this is a beautiful thing. When we can see the world through different perspectives, we are able to love others and love God more.
