Tonight we continued with the second part in the lessons on “The Teaching Priest”.

Our emphasis last week was on the office and function of that leader, but tonight we look into the function of the priesthood “within the body”

1 Peter 2:9
But ye are a chosen generation, a
ROYAL PRIESTHOOD,
an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light

Rev 1:6
And hath made us kings and priests
(a Kingdom of Priest)
unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

2 Chronicles 15:1-3

1 And the Spirit of God came upon Azariah the son of Oded:

2 And he went out to meet Asa, and said unto him, Hear ye me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin; The Lord is with you, while ye be with him; and if ye seek him, he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you.

3 Now for a long season Israel hath been without the true God, and without a teaching priest, and without law.

FOR A LONG SEASON they were without:
1. The True God
2. A Teaching Priest
3. Law

These realities remind the Body of Christ of a spiritual problem, and this teaching points to God’s remedy by the Spirit!
