You Have One. Have You Found It Yet?

Something was measured out for you — before you ever asked for it, before you ever earned it.

Last week we discovered three things about this church that none of us built — the body, the Spirit, the hope. This Sunday, Ephesians 4 hands us the last four strands: one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one Father who holds everything together.

But here's what ties all seven together: this church was never any one person's to build and it was never anyone's to break, either. It belongs to Christ. He paid for it with his own blood, one strand at a time.

That raises a real question for all of us: what happens when a thread gets pulled loose — by a rumor, a grudge, a whisper that quietly turns a family away? Paul doesn't just call us to build unity here. He calls us to guard it, like a soldier guarding a gate that's already standing.

If any of us has ever walked away from this family, or led someone else to, it's usually done without fully seeing what it costs — not us, but the One who bled to hold us together. There's no lock on this gate. Grace is still standing at it, for anyone ready to come home.

So what does guarding something you didn't build, that already cost your Lord everything, actually look like this week? Come find out. Bring someone who needs to hear it.
