Truth without love becomes harsh, driving people away. Love without truth turns into mere flattery, leaving people in danger.

Jesus came "full of grace and truth"—not 50% of each, but 100% of both. When dealing with hard conversations this week:
• Listen before speaking.
• Aim for restoration, not winning an argument.
• Speak specifically and gently, leaving room for dialogue.

Which way do you naturally lean—truth without love, or love without truth?

Against what mark are you measuring your life?

Many of us grew up standing against a doorframe while our parents marked our height in pencil. In adulthood, we often measure ourselves against the people around us—which only ever produces pride or despair.

But God doesn’t measure you against your neighbor. The mark is drawn at the full stature of Christ.

When offended, does His patience appear? When given authority, does His humility show? Let Jesus define your maturity, and rest in the truth that He is the One transforming you mark by mark.

Listening alone doesn't grow you up.

Hebrews 5 tells us that solid food is for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice.

Spiritual maturity isn’t measured by how many years you’ve attended church or how much doctrine you can quote. It’s when hearing becomes doing:
• The sermon becomes patience in a frustrating conversation.
• The Bible study becomes integrity when no one is watching.
• The worship becomes obedience when it costs you something.

What is one practical step of obedience you can take today?

We are surrounded by winds of teaching—viral 60-second clips, confident promises, and messages that tell us exactly what our emotions want to hear.

But spiritual enthusiasm does not automatically equal spiritual judgment. The Bereans in Acts 17 were praised because they examined the Scriptures daily to see if what they heard was true.

When testing what you hear, ask:
Does this make much of Christ, or much of the teacher?
Does it agree with the whole Bible?
What does it produce—humility and love, or pride and division?

What keeps a boat steady in rough weather isn’t a smarter sailor—it’s the keel below the waterline that nobody sees.

Spiritually, your keel is built quietly over years: regular time in Scripture, honest prayer, practiced obedience, and doing life with faithful believers. Nobody applauds a keel, but when life hits hard, it is what keeps you upright—and even helps you move forward through the wind.

What unseen habit are you investing in this week to strengthen your foundation?

The center of maturity is not a subject—it is a Person.

You can read an entire biography of someone and know endless facts about them, but still not truly know them like a close friend would.

The gospel is not the alphabet you learn in kindergarten and leave behind; it is the whole library. Mature believers don’t move on from Christ to more advanced topics—they move deeper into Him.

Take time today not just to learn about Him, but to sit with Him.

It is easy for our faith to rise and fall with our feelings—feeling close to God when the week is good, and questioning everything when a storm hits.

But Paul reminds us in Ephesians 4:14 that grace calls us forward so we are "no longer children, tossed to and fro by the waves". Maturity doesn’t mean you never feel grief, fear, or uncertainty; it means you don’t let a rough week rewrite what you know about God's faithfulness.

What has been shaking your peace lately? Bring it to Him today.

Spiritual growth is not a solo project.

Paul didn’t say “until the most dedicated among you attain”. He said, “until we all attain.”

Think of mountaineers roped together. When one slips, it is the rope—and the people on the other end—that keeps them from falling. Your towel is part of how someone else reaches the summit, and their faithfulness helps you get there too.

Who are you roped to right now? Don’t try to grow all the way up alone.

Tired of feeling like your faith rises and falls with every shifting circumstance?
In a world full of loud opinions, 60-second viral clips, and overwhelming cultural noise, it’s easy to feel like a small boat tossed around in rough seas—plenty of movement, but no steady direction. But God never intended for you to stay at the mercy of every wind that blows. You don’t have to navigate the storm alone or let life’s pressure rewrite what you know to be true.

Join us this Sunday at Grace Gospel Church—in person or online via livestream—for a message from Ephesians 4 on finding an anchor that truly holds. Whether you are searching for deeper discernment, longing for peace in the middle of personal trials, or simply ready for a community where you can grow in both truth and love, there is a place here for you.

The church is not on a treadmill.

In Ephesians 4:13, Paul begins with one small, deeply hopeful word: “Until.”

“Until” tells us our journey has a real destination. But it is also honest in the other direction—it means not yet.

If you see habits, fears, or weaknesses you thought you would have outgrown by now, do not lose heart. Unfinished is not the same as abandoned. The One who began a good work in you will carry it to completion.
