The Wait Is Not Wasted
Devotional
Waiting is hard. There is no way around it. When you are in the middle of a delay, it rarely feels productive. It feels like nothing is happening. But God sees it differently. The promise made to Abraham was not fulfilled for nearly 600 years. That is not a typo. Six hundred years of God working, shaping, and preparing His people before the moment arrived. Every detour had a purpose. Every difficult season was doing something in them that the destination alone could not.
God is not wasting your waiting season either. He is using it. The tension you feel right now, the unanswered prayers, the delays that make no sense, God is working through all of it. He is developing something in you that could not be built any other way. Patience. Trust. Character. Faith that has been tested and proven real. You are not stuck. You are being prepared.
The destination is still coming. But God has big plans for the journey, and He is not going to let a single moment of it go to waste.
Bible Verse
"I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take courage and wait for the Lord."
- Psalms 27:13-14
Reflection Question
What might God be developing in you during this season of waiting that you could not receive any other way?
Quote
"God is leading you to a destination, but He has big plans for the journey. God is going to use every detour, every traffic jam, every flat tire. He will use all that tension, all that trouble, all the wind, the rain, the storms, and all the stops along the way to develop you, to teach you, mold you, shape you, refine you, and prepare you for the destination that he is taking you to."
Prayer
Father, help me to trust You in the waiting. Teach me to see delays not as setbacks but as preparation, and give me the courage to keep believing.
Amen.
