This Sunday (Nov 30) begins the Advent season! We will walking through the classic texts of Matthew 1 and 2 this year, beginning with Matthew's genealogy of Jesus this Sunday. It's amazing what the Lord can teach us through the genealogy of our Lord. To prepare for our time together in this passage, check out this great song from Poor Bishop Hooper called "Christ."

Be sure to join us for our final session of Sunday School for this year. This Sunday, November 23, will be the first week of a four-week session on the final portion of the Nicene Creed, focusing on the Holy Spirit and the church.

Sunday School starts at 9am, Service to follow as normal at 10am.

Happy Reformation Day from RBC! Oct 31, 1517 is noted as being the beginning of the Protestant Reformation, though embers had been burning for some time before Martin Luther posted 95 theses to debate regarding church doctrine to the castle door in Wittenberg. This would lead Luther to a meeting 4 years later before the Holy Roman Emperor where Luther had to defend his teachings. He famously said that his conscience was bound by the Word of God: “Here I stand, I can do no other.” And so we continue in this same spirit that was recovered during the Refomation, stating the Scriptures alone are what we stand upon.

We will discover how the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus led to the formation of a growing group of people called the church.
