We now have a speaker for our Annual Fall Ladies Retreat, which is always the first Saturday in October. She is Katherine Barner who has a page as well as a website. She is a grief and trauma expert, as well as an author and speaker. Her acceptance was indeed a blessing and we are grateful to obtain the information and suggestion from one of our former speakers, Carmen Pate. Katherine's web site is:

This year our retreat will be on Saturday, October 3, 2026 from about 8:30 am until 4:00 pm. Please be praying for Katherine as she begins preparing for this speaking engagement, that the Lord God will make His will known to her regarding our time together. Pray also for those ladies He would like to be attending that He would prepare their hearts so that seeds will be planted & grow. Pray for our Retreat Team as they begin meeting in a month or two as they plan and pray together and then set out to do the actual work involved to bring this to fruition.

Thank you Baytown Community Church for all you do to further the Lord's work here. And thank you for praying for all of our ministries as we seek to love and glorify our God.

REMINDER: Mike and Tammy Riggs will be speaking at our church this Sunday, February 15th. The Riggs are missionaries in Peru! They will be doing both services, the preaching and Sunday School hour.

The Elders have decided against us having church tomorrow, January 25, 2026. It is supposed to be pretty icy and dangerous for so many of our church members, especially those who will be crossing over icy bridges in order to get there.

So please just stay home and be safe this weekend!

UPDATE AND CHANGE OF DATE: This visit by the Riggs has been postponed until February 15th. The reason is bad weather.

One of the missionary couples we support, Mike and Tammy Riggs will be here next Sunday. Mike will be speaking during both sessions on their ministry in Peru. Come and join us at 9:45 am and 11:20 am.

LADIES BIBLE CLASS will begin this Thursday, January 22nd at 9:30 am and end at 11:00 am. Our class will undertake the second part of the video series Living by the Book featuring Dr. Howard Hendricks. We will begin with step 2 and then end with step 3 using the same book we purchased in the fall.

OUR FALL BIBLE CONFERENCE is coming up Friday, Nov. 7th through Sunday morning, Nov. 9th. A bio will be posted below, but the speaker(s) will be Jobe Martin, his wife Jenna and daughters, Taryn and Mirren.

Jobe Martin, a native of Bloomsburg, PA, was a biology major at Bucknell University and a 1966 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh Dental School. After spending two years in the Air Force where he was a dentist for the Presidential flight crews of Air Force One (the 89th Airlift wing), he established a private dental practice at NASA in Houston, TX, and was involved on the Board of Campus Crusade for Christ as well as an Elder for Clear Lake Community Church. Jobe and his wife, Jenna Dee, moved to Dallas in 1971 when he assumed a teaching post at the Baylor College of Dentistry. In 1982, he left his tenured position as Full Professor to enroll at Dallas Theological Seminary, graduating in 1986 with a Masters in Theology and founded the Martin family ministry, Biblical Discipleship Ministries.

Dr. Martin also has an Associates Degree in Business from Eastfield Community College in Dallas and a D. Min. in Biblical Apologetics. He is the featured speaker on the three part series, Incredible Creatures that Defy Evolution, the four-part Creation Proclaims series, and their newest three-part series, God’s Living Treasures: Amazing Animals of Alaska. He has written the book The Evolution of a Creationist which also has an accompanying four part DVD study course by the same name. He has contributed to several books and does many radio and T.V. interviews. Jobe’s wife, Jenna Dee is a retired R.N and ministers to ladies’ groups and does counseling with women. The Martin daughters, Taryn and Mirren, who both have Ph.D.’s in history, work with their parents in the ministry and conduct seminars for young ladies. When they are not travelling in ministry, the Martin Family resides in Rockwall, Texas.
