Bergen Point Community Church

Bergen Point Community Church BPCC is a Protestant Christian fellowship that celebrates diversity and ecumenical spirit. We believe in the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We have roots from American Baptist, United Methodist, and Reformed Church of America, but welcome all regardless of background and denomination. We are a community church, historically a union of members from different denominations: American Baptist, United Methodist, and Reformed Church of America (RCA). The church founders stated: "The purpose of this union is to provide for the worship of Alm

ighty God and instruction in the Christian religion by a United Congregation, and to enable these four churches to become a greater moral and spiritual force in the community, and greater influence for the interdenominational harmony in the entire city." Our Beliefs

The church is a Protestant Christian fellowship of multiple denominations. We are a community church because we welcome all in the community and guests who wish to attend our services, and one can join the church as a non-denominational Christian. Many of our current members come from diverse Protestant and Roman Catholic backgrounds. Communion is open to all who believe that Jesus Christ is their Savior. Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior and the Holy Bible guides us in our faith and daily Christian living. We welcome all who already believe so, and those who want to join us in such beliefs. Based on Jesus' teachings, we celebrate diversity and ecumenical spirit. Our Service of Worship provides a warm and friendly atmosphere where individuals feel at home, regardless of one's background, church membership, or denominational affiliation.

We welcome all to candlelight service on Christmas Eve, Saturday, December 24th starting at 7:00 PM. Our own Bro. Mark Squitieri will lead the service. We will sing carols and read passages to celebrate the birth of our savior. Bring family and friends!

We will have no worship service on Sunday, Christmas Day. But we will have worship service with communion on Sunday, January 1st. Our guest preacher will be the Reverend Jesse Santiago of the RCA. Service starts at 11:00 AM.

We welcome guest Methodist preacher Reverend Frederick Boyle on Sunday, May 29th! Worship service starts at 11:00.
We invite all in the community to join us. Watch Rev. Boyle play beautiful music with his harp!

Christmas Eve Candlelight Service on Friday the 24th at 7 pm!

A festival of lessons and carols; lighting of the Christ Child candle; Christmas meditation by Pastor Roland Ratmeyer; and final congregational candle lighting while singing "Silent Night".

Everybody is welcome to join us! Bring the whole family for a meaningful Christmas Eve.

Bergen Point Community Church is inviting guests to worship with us! Christmas is not far and we'd like our Bayonne and Jersey City community (and beyond!) to be involved in our preparations and celebration for the Christmas season!. We have the esteemed Pastor Roland Ratmeyer leading us.

Regular church members are reminded of our congregational meeting next Sunday, November 7th after worship services. Please be there!

As usual, worship starts 11:00 AM every Sunday. See you there!

There will be a congregational meeting after service on Sunday, October 3rd. A representative of the RCA classis will be present and hopefully from the Methodist and Baptist denominations, too. All members are urged to attend this important meeting! Refreshments will be served.
