Union Baptist Church

Union Baptist Church Located in the heart of Bay Minette, Alabama, Union Baptist Church is where faith, family, and community come together. All are welcome! Pastor Donald Taylor.

Join us for spirit-filled worship, biblical teaching, and loving fellowship. In 1935 there were two Baptist churches in the Douglasville Community; the Belmont Baptist Church, Led by Rev. J.F. Keeby, and First Baptist Church led by Rev. Scott. The two churches decided to combine from one church and the church would be called Union Baptist Church. On December 6, 1935, records were filed with Probat

e Judge's Office of Baldwin County to consolidate the two churches. A meeting was held on the fourth Sunday in October of 1935 to organize the new body. Rev. E.D. Womack was selected as our first pastor. In 1937, the cornerstone of our first building was laid. Our first deacons were: Paul Donald, Cupit Watts, John Winston, Joseph Thompson and J.M. Palmore. Five other deacons under his leadership: Prince Crook, C.D. Mims, Pargie Thornton, Ben Crook and Oswald Boykin who also served as clerk. Elmore Colman and Lee Homer Hudson were in training. In 1957 the church decided to remodel and the front entrance was changed from facing Carrol Avenue to facing Bibb Street. On July 25, 1976, we marched into our present sanctuary, which is again facing Carroll Avenue. Since then we have added several additions to our facility. In 1982, we dedicated a new Sunday School Department, kitchen, offices, and bathrooms. In 2001, a fellowship hall was added. In 2007, we created a nursery and expanded our Sunday School to a second story level. There have been nine licensed and seven ordained ministers in our History. They were: Rev. James T. Crook, Rev. D.L. Boykin, Rev. Arnold Cox, Rev. Stanley Cox, Rev. John Cox III, Rev. Adam Gatrey, Rev. Roosevelt Valree, Rev. Donald Taylor, Rev. William Taylor, and Rev. Larry Anderson.

‼️ATTENTION UNION BAPTIST CHURCH FAMILY

Please take note of an important schedule change for Sunday, August 9.

⏰ Morning Worship will begin at 8:30 AM (instead of our regular 9:30 AM service).

This time change is due to our Pastor, Rev. Donald Taylor, and members of our church family traveling to First Baptist Church in Calera, Alabama, to celebrate their Church Anniversary, where Rev. Donald Taylor will serve as the guest speaker during the 2:00 PM service.

🍽️ For those traveling to Calera, lunch will be provided by Rev. and Sis. Taylor immediately following our morning worship service.

Please keep our Pastor and everyone traveling in your prayers as we fellowship with our brothers and sisters in Christ.

🎒 Saturday, August 1 | 10:00 AM–1:00 PM
Join us for our Chosen Outreach Back-to-School Bash at the Bay Minette High School Football Stadium. There will be free school supplies, singing, praise dancing, and more. Everyone is invited!

Please support Bro. Ronald Mix during his Deacon Ordination Service. We invite all members, family, and friends to share in this special occasion.
