Governor Ivey Announces GOMESA Grant Award for Bay Minette’s Kids Park Upgrade
BAY MINETTE, Ala. — The City of Bay Minette is proud to announce the award of a $900,000 GOMESA-funded grant to support major renovations and upgrades at Kids Park, located at 303 McMillan Avenue. Governor Kay Ivey’s announcement this morning represents a significant investment by the State of Alabama in one of Bay Minette’s beloved recreational facilities.
Mayor Joshua Brown shared his gratitude on hearing the announcement, “Kids Park has been an important place for families in Bay Minette for many years, and it holds a special place in the hearts of so many residents. This grant is a meaningful investment in a space where future generations will continue to play, learn, and make lasting memories. We are incredibly grateful for Governor Ivey’s support and the continued partnership through GOMESA. These improvements will create a safer, more accessible, and more inviting space for residents of all ages, and we are excited to see this project move forward for the benefit of our entire community.”
Funds from the grant will support a wide range of improvements at Kids Park, including a new restroom facility, upgraded walkways, modern playground equipment, an outdoor classroom space, additional lighting, and various enhancements designed to elevate the park’s natural beauty. These upgrades aim to create a safe, welcoming environment for children and families of all ages and abilities.
