Today’s sermon was the first in our 6 week sermon series, Under God: Faith, Freedom, and the call of a Nation.

Pastor Tony shared:
“The Call of Covenant Faithfulness”

“Because God calls His people into a covenant relationship, we are accountable to live faithfully before Him and visibly before the world.

In 1630 John Winthrop delivered a sermon aboard the ship “Arabella” entitled, “A Model of Christian Charity”. He reminded the settlers of that time, that their new community [in the New World] would live under a sacred responsibility before God. He said, “We shall be as a city upon a hill. The eyes of all people are upon us.”

We are to be a people, a community, a nation for God’s honor.”

Jesus said in the book of Matthew,
“”You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭14‬-‭16‬
