John 21. - “Lovest thou me?”
And on the first day of the week the ladies came to Jesus’ tomb to anoint his body but the tomb was empty. Jesus had conquered death!! The boulder wasn’t just rolled away to let our Lord out;-it was also rolled away so our faith could enter in.
Jesus was not the victim, he was the victor. Because of the resurrection we are also victors. That same power that caused all of this, works in us too if you are a born again believer.
Welcome today Victor. Thanks be to the rising up of our Savior and Lord! In Mark 16:7 the angel told the ladies to go and tell the disciples AND Peter that He would see them again in Galilee. The only disciple mentioned by name was Peter. None of the other gospel’s mention his name, only Mark. Jesus wanted Peter to know he was still loved and needed. He was addressed personally by name even though he denied his Lord 3 times.
Jesus also knows our name and even through our failures we are not a number or a statistic. He knows OUR name! Jesus is calling you today to tell you of his great love for you like Peter, personally.
Peter denied our Lord 3 times when our Lord asked Peter 3 times, “Peter, do you love me?” He commanded him to feed and attend His sheep. Jesus was reaffirming His love and steadfastness. He was calling Peter back to ministry &
work in His kingdom, responsibly.
As we approach this blessed event we hear Jesus call us by name to tell others about His great love and forgiveness. He is still the way, the truth, and the life! No one comes to God but by Him.
John 14:6.
May we be workers in His harvest for souls!
