Dear Parents,
This week, we read Acts 2:1-13, the passage in which the apostles receive the Holy Spirit at
Pentecost. We talked about how it is significant that God chooses to pour out God’s Spirit on
all people on the day of Pentecost because God cares about all of us. We are all connected to
each other, and if the gospel is good news for one of us, it’s good news for all of us.
Use the following questions to help spark conversation about what we talked about
this week.
• In what ways does our family care for each other? How do we care for those outside our
family? How can we continue or begin acting as the hands and feet of Jesus?
• What are you learning about God these days?
Let us know if you have any questions as we continue our series. Thank you for allowing us to
invest in the life of your teen.

Dear Parents,
This week we continued in Acts 1, where we observed the early church seeking guidance from God when they were faced with a tough decision. From their story we learned three communal practices to help us become the kind of people who naturally hear from God Those three practices are: meeting together as an inclusive community regardless of race gender, or social status; praying together; and listening to Scripture together as we seek to understand God's will
Use the following questions to help spark conversation about what we talked about this week.
• Are there any decisions you are currently struggling with:? • Do you think we should pray together more as a family? • What was the high point and low point of the meeting?
Let us know if you have any questions as we continue our series. Thank you for allowing us tc invest in the life of your teen.

Hi everyone! Just a quick update—there will be no youth group this week. With so many families traveling or out of town for the holiday weekend, we've decided to cancel our meeting.

While we're apart, I'd encourage everyone to spend a few minutes reading James 1:22–25 together as a family. As you read, ask yourselves:
• What is one way I can put God's Word into action this week?
• How can our family encourage one another to live out our faith?

We hope everyone has a safe and restful week, and we're looking forward to seeing you all back at youth group next week!

Dear Parents, this week we began a seven-week series on being a Spirit- filled community. We studied Luke 10:1-2, when Jesus prepares the earliest Christians to spread the gospel -- first close to him, then to the ends of the earth. Jesus instructs them to declare peade, stay with people and eat in their homes, heal the sick, and proclaim the gospel. Students learned that these concrete steps of action are still applicable and helpful for us today.

I encourage parents to use the following questions to help spark conversation about what we talked about this week:
* How well do you think our family does at practicing hospitality? Is there anything you think we can do better?
* What do you think it means to declare peace? How can we do that as a family?

Let us know if you have any questiojs as we begin our series. Thank you for allowing us to invest in the life of your teen.

Youth is canceled this week while I'm out of town. In the meantime, take a moment to think about James 4:14. If life is as brief as a mist, what are you investing your time in?

"Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes." James 4:14
