--Please see a special announcement from our School Board Chair--
Dr. Brown will be leaving us at the end of this school year, and we would like to thank her for her unfailing efforts to help Battle Creek Academy through a difficult season and move us toward excellence not only academically, but most importantly, spiritually.
With that situation in mind, the Battle Creek Academy Board of Trustees forged into a search for a new principal administrator. I am thanking God for providing for our needs once again and am trusting in His wisdom and leading. After the search and interview process was complete, God made it very clear to the board who our next principal administrator should be. We extended an invitation to Mrs. Samantha Mills to be our next principal administrator, and she officially accepted that offer earlier this week. Mrs. Mills told me that she was on cloud nine regarding her decision, and she is excited to be back at Battle Creek Academy. Mrs. Mills taught at BCA from 2012 through 2015 and remembers her time here fondly as she reminisced about the family atmosphere that exists at BCA. Since that time she has been teaching at Andrews Academy in Berrien Springs, MI. She has been a Cooperating Mentor Teacher to a student teacher from the Andrews University Education Department during her tenure at AA. Mrs. Mills is also the current president of the Association of Adventist Movement Professionals. Over the past several years she has been working on her Ph.D. in Leadership at Andrews University with an expected completion date of May 2027.
Mrs. Mills is a dedicated education professional, skilled in curriculum development, assessment strategies, and fostering school-community partnerships. She is committed to creating supportive, inclusive learning environments and driving school-wide goals through effective communication, collaboration, and mentorship. She has been recognized for patience, empathy, and the ability to inspire staff, students and families with a focus on promoting growth, accountability and a positive school culture.
Mrs. Mills felt God’s leading as the doors kept opening for her to come back to Battle Creek Academy. She said that she felt the presence of God in the room during her interview events here. She is confident that this is exactly where God is leading her to be at this time and she is eagerly anticipating working together with all of us as a cohesive team to bolster and revitalize this flagship Adventist school.
I thank everyone that has come before and has had a hand in the rich heritage of BCA. I am also thankful for everyone that is here now and will be here in the near future as we all work together as a strong kinship team to do the work that God has placed in our hands... the work of growing students for Christ spiritually, academically, physically and socially as we cultivate their hearts and minds for now and for eternity.
Please help us welcome Mrs. Mills back to Battle Creek Academy in the next few months and be involved in showing her that the family atmosphere that she felt years ago at BCA is even stronger now. Mrs. Mills will be a part of all of our daily lives very soon so keep her in your prayers as she makes the transition to this leadership role.
With gratitude,
Dan Grentz, DVM
