Week 3: The Fall — When Humanity Rejected God's Wisdom
The first battle in Scripture was not fought with swords.
It was fought with words.
Before sin entered the world, the serpent introduced a competing wisdom—a way of thinking that challenged God's truth, questioned His Word, and offered mankind independence from His authority.
The Fall was more than eating forbidden fruit. It was humanity's decision to exchange God's wisdom for another voice.
In this lesson, we will explore:
The Tree of Life and the Tree of Knowledge
The serpent's strategy of deception
The difference between knowledge and wisdom
How worldly wisdom continues to influence culture today
How sin and death entered the world
How Jesus Christ, the Last Adam, came to destroy the works of the devil and restore what was lost in Eden
From Genesis to Revelation, Scripture reveals a battle between God's wisdom and the wisdom of this world. Understanding the Fall helps us understand why redemption was necessary and why Christ's victory is so significant.
