PULSE Immersion Weekend Southeast Louisiana will be held at Camp Istrouma, from Friday, March 6 at 5p.m., to Sunday, March 8 at Noon.Throughout the weekend, you will grow in pro-life knowledge and persuasion skills, discuss effective activism, hear beautiful testimonies, and hang out with fellow passionate pro-life students from all over the state!

Mark your calendars and get ready to party! Red Stick Catholic Fest 2020 has officially been scheduled for OCTOBER 10, 2020. The day will feature a keynote talk from Father Josh Johnson, breakout sessions like "Stump the Seminarians," and visits from other special guests you'll have to see to believe. You won't want to miss this epic gathering of teens from all across the Diocese.

Are you a religious educator who is interested in diving into the richness of Saint Pope John Paul II's Theology of the Body? Theology of the Body Training will be provided by Allison Dreher on Nov. 19 and 20 at the Catholic Life Center to assist educators in creating their own curriculum for any age level. Credits will be awarded upon training completion.

Today we celebrate the Feast of St. James the Greater (The Apostle). James and his brother John (the Evangelist) were both given the very unique title of "Boanerges" by Jesus in the Gospel which literally translates to "Men of Thunder" (Mark 3:17). The two brothers lived up to this title in the Gospel of Luke when, after being rebuked by a Samaritan Village, James and his brother ask Jesus if he wants them to "call fire down from heaven" to destroy the village (Luke 9:51-56). Of course Jesus rebukes James and John for this request however it is here we see their passion, boldness and "thunderousness" fully on display for our Lord. Stepping out into a life of discipleship requires no small amount of courage for St. James was among the first of the Apostles to be martyred for the name of Jesus (Acts 12). Pray that we can call upon the intercession of the courageous spirit of St. James to keep our legs moving forward and our hearts full of hope when rest of us wants to turn back from completing our mission of building the kingdom here on earth.
