Reminder: Sister Aminah (Br. Ali’s wife) has arranged a class on the basics of Islam. This includes the Five Pillars of Islam, inculuding Iman, Beliefs, Salat, etc. The class will be held each Thursday evening following Maghrib Salat at Masjid Rahman (ICBR). This class is for reverted (converted) sisters who want or need to learn our blessed religion. Remember that when Allah ta ilah chooses us to be a Muslim, He has given us the most precious gift that can be given to a human being. Therefore, we should make effort to learn from the cradle to the grave or the womb to the tomb. InshaAllah.

'Aishah (May Allah be pleased with her) reported: Prior to his demise, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to supplicate frequently:

سبحان الله وبحمده، أستغفر الله، وأتوب إليه

Subhan Allahi wa bihamdihi; Astaghfirullaha wa atubu ilaihi
(Allah is free from imperfection, and I begin with praising Him. I beg forgiveness from Allah and I turn to Him in repentance."
[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

(Riyad as-Salihin 1877, Book 19, Hadith 9)

Seek forgiveness often as it should be as regular a practice as your good deeds. Use the Dua of the Prophet (ﷺ) for what can be better than that? Do you want to know the daily routine of the Prophet (ﷺ)? Discover it and see how much of it you can emulate here.

Narrated Safwan bin Sulaim (RA) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "The one who looks after a widow and a poor person is like the Mujahid in the cause of Allah, or like the one who fasts all the day and stands (in prayer) all the night."

(Jami` at-Tirmidhi 1969, Book 27, Hadith 75)

Be it due to illness, war, famine or circumstance, widows are left behind and life can become difficult. Show compassion for those who have lost their spouses, care for them, treat them with kindness and look after them. Your kindness will be rewarded as if it was worship, Insha’Allah!

Ibn ‘Umar (RA) said: The Messenger of Allah (SAW) commanded us that the end of Ramadan, when the fasting is closed sadaqah (alms) should be paid before the people went to prayer. ‘Abd Allah b. ‘Umar used to pay it one or two days before.

(Sunan Abi Dawud 1610, Book 9, Hadith 55)
