Comfort in marriage looks like creating a safe, Spirit-filled place where both husband and wife are known, accepted, and supported. It’s being able to rest emotionally and spiritually in one another listening without judgment, praying together, and offering steady presence in seasons of joy and trial. Biblical comfort reflects God’s own heart: bearing one another’s burdens, speaking life, and reminding each other of God’s promises when strength feels low. In that kind of covenant love, peace grows, trust deepens, and hearts are continually restored.

Security in a marriage looks like two people fully committed to one another emotionally, spiritually, and physically creating a safe place where trust can grow. It is knowing your spouse is faithful, honest, and dependable, choosing love and covenant faithfulness even in difficult seasons. In a godly marriage, security flows from Christ being the foundation, where fear is replaced with peace and each spouse knows they are valued, protected, and never alone Forever Together Bishop John Jones.

Encouragement in a marriage looks like intentionally speaking life, faith, and hope into your spouse, especially in moments of weakness or weariness. It is choosing words that build rather than tear down, reminding one another of God's promises, identity, and purpose. Encouragement shows up through praying together, affirming strengths, standing in agreement during trials, and gently calling each other to higher ground with love. In a Christ-centered marriage, encouragement becomes a spiritual covering that strengthens unity and keeps both hearts aligned with God's design. Forever Together, Bishop John Jones

Affection in marriage is the daily expression of love that reassures a spouse they are cherished, wanted, and secure. Through gentle touch, kind words, and intentional closeness, affection strengthens emotional bonds and reflects God’s design that husband and wife become “one flesh” (Genesis 2:24, KJV). When affection is present, love is not just spoken—it is felt, nurtured, and continually renewed (Song of Solomon 1:2; 1 Corinthians 7:3, KJV)

Appreciation in a marriage looks like intentionally noticing and affirming your spouse’s efforts, character, and sacrifices—both big and small. It’s expressed through sincere words of gratitude, respectful actions, and consistent kindness that say, “I see you, I value you, and I don’t take you for granted.” In a Christ-centered marriage, appreciation reflects honor (Romans 12:10) and builds unity by making each spouse feel cherished, respected, and encouraged.

Respect in a marriage looks like honoring one another as equals created by God, speaking with kindness, and valuing each other’s thoughts, feelings, and boundaries. It is shown through listening without belittling, choosing faithfulness in words and actions, and supporting one another’s God-given calling. In a Christ-centered marriage, respect reflects reverence for the Lord by treating your spouse with dignity, patience, and selfless love, even in moments of disagreement (Ephesians 5:21; 1 Peter 3:7).

Attention in a marriage looks like choosing your spouse on purpose every day. It is giving focused time, listening without distraction, noticing emotional needs, and responding with care. Biblically, it reflects love that is present, patient, and intentional—where a husband and wife honor one another by being fully engaged in heart, mind, and spirit, not just sharing space but truly sharing life (Ephesians 5:21; 1 Corinthians 13:4–7).

✨💍🎉♥️✨
49 YEARS. A REAL LOVE STORY.
💍✨🎉♥️✨

49 years ago, we said “I do.”

We didn’t know every challenge.

We didn’t know every season.

We just knew we loved each other — and we were willing to grow.

Like any long marriage, we’ve had moments that tested us.

Moments that stretched us.

Moments that taught us what love really means.

What we’ve learned is this:

Love isn’t proven by perfection — it’s revealed by perseverance.

Our marriage is stronger today than it’s ever been.

Not because life was easy…

But because we chose each other again and again.

49 years later, we’re still laughing.

Still learning.

Still choosing love.

Still choosing together.

If you’re walking through a hard season, let this be your reminder:

• Struggles don’t disqualify love

• Growth takes time

• Commitment can deepen with the years

This isn’t just an anniversary.

It’s a testimony to endurance, grace, and choosing love for a lifetime.

Acceptance in marriage looks like choosing to love your spouse as they are, not as a project to be fixed. It is embracing one another’s strengths and weaknesses with grace, patience, and understanding. From a biblical perspective, acceptance reflects Christ’s love toward us—loving fully while still encouraging growth (Romans 15:7). It creates a safe place where both husband and wife are valued, respected, and free to grow together in God’s purpose.

Support in a marriage looks like two people standing shoulder to shoulder, committed to helping one another become who God has called them to be. It means listening without judgment, praying for and with each other, and offering strength when the other feels weak. Biblical support is not control or criticism, but encouragement, patience, and faithfulness bearing one another’s burdens in love and choosing unity even in difficult seasons (Galatians 6:2; Ecclesiastes 4:9–10, KJV).
