Joyous Feast! С Праздником!
On Sunday, May 31, 2026, the parishes of the Diocese of Philadelphia and Eastern Pennsylvania celebrated the Great Feast of Holy Pentecost, commemorating the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Holy Apostles and the birth of the Church. Through the celebration of the Divine Services, including the Kneeling Vespers of Pentecost, the faithful bore witness to the unity of the Church and the enduring presence of the Holy Spirit, who guides, strengthens, and sanctifies the people of God.
On behalf of His Eminence Archbishop Mark, the Diocesan Media Office extends heartfelt greetings to the clergy, matushki, and faithful of the Diocese on the Great Feast of Holy Pentecost, prayerfully wishing all a blessed and grace-filled celebration of the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles and the birth of the Church. His Eminence sincerely thanks all who submitted photos for this edition of "Feastday in Focus," which beautifully highlights the vibrant liturgical life of our parishes.
Troparion:
Blessed art Thou, O Christ our God, Who hast revealed the fishermen as most wise by sending down upon them the Holy Spirit, and through them Thou didst draw the world into Thy net. O Lover of Man, glory to Thee!
Kontakion:
When the Most High came down and confused the tongues, He divided the nations; but when He distributed the tongues of fire, He called all to unity. Therefore, with one voice we glorify the All-holy Spirit!
Magnification:
We magnify Thee, O Christ, the Giver of life, and we honor Thy most-holy Spirit, Whom Thou didst send from the Father onto Thy divine Disciples!
