The way we use the word "service" speaks to our philosophy of life. Do we use"service" as in to humbly serve someone or do we say"serve us" (meaning to demand others to bow to our needs and wishes)? If we follow the mentorship of Jesus, who came not the be served but to serve (Mark 10:45), we shall consider the needs of others above our own.

"Service" or "serve us"; which will it be? The latter is the way of the world; the former is the way of our Lord. So let's shun "serve us" and embrace "service". In so doing we personify the love of God.(Rev. Steve Warner)
