On Saturday, we hardy souls ventured into uncharted territory to discover new ways of thinking about — and actually approaching — forgiveness. The main lesson? Forgiveness is how you retire those ancient beliefs you’ve been carrying: that someone else caused your reality, that the world is out to get you, and that you’re a hapless victim of circumstance.
Forgiveness isn’t some noble, reluctant act of generosity toward someone who “wronged” you. It’s an act of self‑liberation — the moment you stop letting old interpretations run your life.
It’s not difficult, complicated, or a moral achievement. It’s the logical choice of a mind that wants peace more than it wants to be right. And when you see it clearly, forgiveness stops feeling like a chore and starts feeling like a relief — a simple, elegant way to return to yourself.
