Anyone who is entitled to a Military Funeral (generally anyone who dies on active duty, honorably discharged veterans, and military retirees) are entitled to the three rifle volleys, subject to availability of honor guard teams.
Three spent rounds are tucked into the folded flag representing Duty, Honor, and Country. The Burial Flag is presented to the next of kin.

It’s been a tough year for us all. My wife and I had that COVID at the beginning of the year. I lost my mother to the COVID 4 weeks ago. I pray that it will be over soon.
Next week I will working on the cemetery. Your always welcome to come lend a hand.

I’ve been fighting with outsiders who are insisting that our Cemetery is a free public cemetery.
If you are ever asked-these are the facts as you know them:
The Moorefield Lees Chapel Cemetery is a “Private Family Cemetery”. It is funded by continuous donations from surviving Family Members. “Only through their continued donations” they too may reserve rights to a final resting spot in the Cemetery. “It is not free.” You cannot buy your way in. No exceptions.
We will fight to protect the rights to our members and their burial benefits. The available spots will not be gobbled up from outsiders or non-supporters.
Some people have supported and sent in donations for years.
If a family member chooses not to donate or support the Cemetery then they have no perception of any burial benefits.

Worked very hard to get the cemetery mowed and cleaned up for this Memorial Day weekend. It took 2 days to get ready. I was able reset a few headstones with more needing to be reset. I am still looking for help. I’ve been asking for help and not had any volunteers. Please contact me if you are willing to lend a hand. Thank you.

Also, please ask everyone in your family to donate. We haven’t received donations like we should. We’ve only received a few donations over the past several years. It’s not enough.
