🙏 Continue to pray for missionaries Josh and Jessica Cobb as they serve in England.
Culturally, the British have been known for maintaining a “stiff upper lip,” which is their way of expressing restraint in their emotions. However, since COVID-19, there is less of a stigma around seeking help for mental health challenges.
The Cobbs work to help those around them and open doors to gospel conversations by offering free counseling services, but demand for these services is high.
To help with this problem, the couple also writes training material to educate others on how to assist those who are living with mental health disorders.
The Cobbs also lead both in-person and online trainings about various mental health topics, and they prioritize gospel conversations in all their relationships.
Jessica explains biblical truths to help youth understand and cope with suffering, anxiety, and struggles with self-esteem, and they learn and sing songs. She also leads free fitness classes for the community, in which she incorporates gospel messages into every workout.
Josh uses jujitsu and his children’s sporting events to establish rapport and build relationships with their teammates’ parents, opening the door to sharing the gospel. (In the image above, Josh received his purple belt in jujitsu!)
PRAY God would raise up more people to help Josh and Jessica and that He would strengthen their family against burnout from their busyness.
