Some of our worst decisions began with something that felt incredibly appealing. A relationship. An opportunity. A purchase. A desire. In the moment, it seemed right—maybe even irresistible. But why is it that the things with the strongest emotional pull can make it so difficult to see where they’re actually taking us? And how do we know when what feels like a green light should really make us stop and pay attention?

Have you ever said to someone, “I would have never gotten here without you”? We all know the value of following someone who knows the way. Jesus extended that same invitation when He said, “Follow me.” But He wasn’t simply offering better advice—He was inviting people into a different direction, a different future, and ultimately a different kind of life. The question isn’t whether you’re following someone. It’s whether they’re leading you where you truly want to go.
