Our men talked about Psalm 19 and the balance between excuses and thankfulness at breakfast this morning.

Today's prayer is a response to God's call for purity. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal impurity in your heart, thoughts, words, and actions. Let us repent of any unclean thing, known or unknown to us.

Yesterday called us to pray for humility. Today we pray for humble surrender. Ask the Lord for Spirit guidance and courage to pursue His will for your life.

Today we ask for Christ to empower our ability to truly care for people, to love our neighbor well. Pray for clarity and willingness on where and how the Lord wants to use you today.

August 21 Those who reject walking “in step with the wicked” or standing “in the way that sinners take” are blessed of
God. Pray that you will discern and resist evil with a heart to honor God through your obedience to His Word (Psalm1:1).
What influences are you allowing in your family? Pray for wisdom that knows what influences are best for your household.

Living in obedience means not conforming “to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance.”
Pray for discernment of the Spirit and strength of heart to reject evil while joyfully obeying the ways of Christ (1 Peter1:14). Pray today that the Lord shows you what you cling to from the world that keeps you from clinging more to Jesusand the Word. Help your family pray to cherish Christ more than worldliness.

August 19 Joshua led God’s people to obey the unusual instructions of marching around the city of Jericho. When the walls fell the seventh time around, Joshua commanded the army,
“Shout! For the LORD has given you the city!” Pray that God’s people today will have faith to believe that God advances His Kingdom through those who obey His Word (Joshua 6:16). Pray for our homes to be centers of obedience, even if it makes little sense to the World around us.

August 18 Jesus declared, “You are my friends if you do what I command.”

Pray that your heart overflows with the desireto be obedient to His truth (John 15:14).

Pray that we honor our parents at all ages and lead them to trust Jesus’ words for their joy.

Peter demonstrated obedience with his response to Jesus’ instructions to put down their nets after a fishless night: “But because you say so, I will let down the nets.” Pray that your heart responds immediately to Jesus with “because you say so” trust in Him (Luke 5:5).

We are called to “walk in obedience to his commands.” His command “is that you walk in love.” Pray that our church is known for radical obedience and love that points the lost to Jesus (2 John 1:6).
