Marcia's Poem of the Week 8 /28/2026 1 John 1:5-7 NLT “LIGHT IN THE DARKNESS” 7 But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.
LIGHT IN THE DARKNESS
We're created to live in His Light,
Free from sin, free from guilt,
We're made perfect in God's sight,
Where our lives can be rebuilt.
Guilt can eat away at our love,
And guilt can blind our ability to see,
Guilt squeezes tight like a glove,
But the hand of God sets us free.
We needn't replay faults in our mind,
And we needn't be lost in bad behavior,
And we needn't worry all the time,
Because the Lord has granted us favor.
Guilts heavy burden ruins our best,
By wrapping us in sin and sadness,
And robbing us of peace and rest,
Until we recognize His goodness.
We know He will deal with the guilty,
It's for that purpose He came and died,
He forgives and removes guilt completely,
Once we let go of our sin and pride.
God knows our outside and our inside,
And we can turn to Him for every need.
We're not meant to live in sinful pride,
Because He Loves us, He'll set us free.

THE TRUTH
How to practice the truth,
And let go of the dark and wrong,
Living in God's light is proof,
That you've become loving and strong.
Feeling guilty is your first warning,
That you've taken a step away,
Come to Him in genuine mourning,
Sorry, repentant and unafraid.
A shadow of wrongdoing overhead,
Will cause your heart to be alone,
But the Lord will be what He said,
Forgiving and Loving you as His own.
