Friday, August 21, 2026 from 2-5pm Summerside Feeding Ministries will be hosting a “Stock the Freezer Event” in partnership with the and . This event is meant to assist those most impacted by the recent power outages in and around the Village of Batavia. There will be a limited supply of food items, but we hope to serve as many households as we are able.

Cleaning out the refrigerator or freezer after the outage? The Village has you covered!!!

A dumpster will be at the Village Street Department, 303 Clark Street, tomorrow August 15 from 8 AM to 4 PM for residents disposing of spoiled food. Food items only, please. Other household waste goes out with regular collection.

The need came up today and the dumpster is here tomorrow... That is the Public Works crew making room for it on short notice, on top of a week of storm cleanup. And that is what it looks like when the people making the decision are the same people who live on your street. Next to you, in your Village. This is home.
