Trinity Powder Springs UCC Trinity United Church of Christ in Basye, Va. We are a small , country church with open doors and open hearts. Our doors are open to every one.

Trinity United Church of Christ was originally known as Powder Springs Union Church. It began in 1858 in the old school house which was used until 1954. Construction began on the current church in 1953 and was completed in 1954. A Large addition for pastor's office, a library, Sunday School rooms was added at a later date. We are currently served by Pastor Steve Woods and have services every Sunday morning beginning at 9:30 am.

Due to our parking lot being a sheet of ice😅 and the forecast of very cold wind and wind chills on Sunday morning we will not be having services tomorrow.

Good morning friends of Trinity UCC. A cold one for Sue, had 6 degrees earlier.
Due to the incoming weather , snow and possible sleet our services will be canceled for tomorrow. We will reschedule our annual congregational meeting as well.

Good morning friends of TrinityUCC! A cool start but going to get COLD later on. Everyone we stay warm!
Just want to thank everyone for a great turn out for Wreaths Across America yesterday. Such a nice day to honor our veterans. Thank you Pastor Steve and Brenda Funkhouser for a very nice service. A big thanks to Tom and Leslie Carr for the logistics that make it work!! Thank you to the wonderful ladies who always help in the kitchen and esp with clean up.
Our next event is Candlelight Service on Dec 21 at 7pm. Don't forget to come early for a soup and sandwich supper at 530. We look forward to seeing everyone and sharing the Christmas blessings in our beautiful little church.

Good morning friends of Trinity UCC! A frosty cold Sat morning, hope you are staying warm!
Fall has passed and winter is approaching, we have enjoyed having our Homecoming in Oct and our Thanksgiving dinner for the Search Group Home in November.
Next up on our agenda is Dec 13th, Wreaths Across America ceremony. We will begin our service at 12 noon with a brief blessing of the wreaths, then the laying of wreaths on the graves of our veterans. We have 52 in our cemetary. If you have done this before we encourage you to come and share this time with us again. If you have not but would like to be involved please call Pastor Steve at 540 975 0345 for more information. The social Hall will be open for coffee, cocoa and light refreshments at 11 and after the ceremony.
On Dec 21 we will be having our Candlelight Service at 7pm. There will be a free soup and sandwich supper at 530 before the service. Please come join us for both.

Good afternoon friends of Trinity Powder Springs UCC .
We want to thank everyone for coming to our Homecoming today. A special thanks to Rev Marilyn Heishman for leading our worship and communion and to Joe Lehnen for the message today. We had about 36 or so people today.
Also a big thanks to all who brought food and what a bunch of food it was! Thanks to all my "girls" at church who always pitch in to cook, clean and help however is needed. I love you all!
We were so glad to have Pastor Steve with us today. He is improving each day and we hope he will soon be back with us . We miss him.

Good morning friends of Trinity Powder Springs UCC
Happy first day of Auntum. Pretty dry out there, hoping for rain mid week. Please be careful with outdoor fires while cleaning up your gardens or yard before winter!
We want to give you an update on things at church. As many of you know and for those who don't, our Pastor Steve has had a stroke and is currently in rehab for a period of time at Wi******er Rehab Center at the old hospital building. He is improving but we are unsure when he will be able to be back with us. That being said we want to assure everyone that our church is still open for services every Sunday at 9:30 . We have been blessed by some very good speakers who are willing to help us out each week to bring the message to us and to you. We would love to have all of your support during this time!
We will have HOMECOMING, with COMMUNION, as planned, OCT 12 at 10 am. Covered dish lunch to follow. Rev Marilyn Heishman will be our Pastor that day and we have a guest speaker as well.

Good morning friends of Trinity UCC. A very cool early fall morning, 41 degrees at my house!
Just an update on the events coming up at Trinity this fall and of course thru the holiday season I will have more info.
Sunday October 12 we will be having HOMECOMING. We will have worship with communion at 10 am and a COVERED DISH lunch to follow. Our guest speaker will be Joe Lehnen.
We will be celebrating 70 years as Trinity . The former church, Powder Springs Union Church, was established in 1858 . Some of the former members left the church to form what is now Prince of Peace in Orkney Springs. Construction on our present church building was begun in 1954 and the first service was held on August 14, 1955.
We hope you will join us in celebrating 70 yrs of serving the Lord and our community. We are smaller in number but still a very vital part of Basye and surrounding area as we strive to offer open doors and open hearts to any and all who are searching for a church family.
November 9 Veterans Day Service. Our Pastor Steve does a very nice service to recognize all veterans and we have many pictures displayed with family info on the backs. Great for genealogy research.
November 16. Thanksgiving Lunch for the Search Group Home. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Dec 13 @12 noon we will have Wreaths Across America ceremony. More info to follow.

Dec 21 @ 5 pm. Soup and Sandwich supper followed by Candlelight Services at 7pm.

A good afternoon to our friends of Trinity UCC. It has been a very nice day today and we hope everyone has been enjoying the beautiful rains we are having.
Last evening we had our second dinner for the West Shenandoah Ruritan Club this year. As usual our ladies turned out a wonderful meal and I thank each of them for their hard work.
Upcoming this Sunday June 22 we will have our annual church picnic at 4 pm at the Edinburg Park at the big shelter close to the pool. Please bring a covered dish/ desert and come join us for some good food and fellowship. Share with your friends and family...you don't need to be a member of Trinty. All are welcome.

Good morning friends of Trinity UCC.
Time for our Annual Bake and Food Sale.
May 17, 8 am until 2 pm
Baked goods, white beans, veg soup, Country Ham Sandwiches and breakfast sandwiches.
We will have about 10 Vendors this year to shop from.. anything from plants to home goods, to hand sewn totes and misc items . Lock n Lock and craft items, 2 non profit groups to help share the word about the wonderful work they do.

Good morning Friends of TrinityUCC.
A nice spring morning, 65 degrees. Looks to be a beautiful Easter .
We would like to welcome everyone to our Easter Sunrise Service tomorrow at 7 am.
We will be having Communion and will have a delicious breakfast to follow.
We look forward to seeing you and at our normal regular service which is 9:30 every other Sunday.

Good evening friends of Trinity and Happy March 1st! Spring is near.
Upcoming events at Trinity this spring will include our annual hosting the West Shen Ruritan club in April for their monthly meeting. We enjoy hosting them each year.
Also in April we celebrate Easter with our sunrise service and breakfast to follow. More details to come.

In mid May we will be having our Annual Bake Sale and we will also have Country Ham Sandwiches and white beans for sale. This year instead of a Rummage Sale we will be having a SPRING BAZAAR. We will have tables for rent for crafts, yard sale type items. At this time we have room for 10 or 11 tables inside and depending on interest we may have some room outside for you to bring your own set up. No baked items/ Food sales as the church guild is doing that. For more info you can give me (Roberta) a call or text at 540 624 2312 or message on fb.

In June we are hoping to have a hymn sing as well . More info upcoming on that when we have more definite plans.

Good evening friends of Trinity. I hope everyone has been keeping warm during the last few days. Hopefully it will be back to more moderate temps soon.
Just a reminder that we will be having church on Sunday Jan 26.. Church will be at 10 am. as we will also be having our Annual meeting after church. We will be having a soup/sandwich/ light lunch before the meeting. Please feel free to bring a dish or desert to share if you would like.
