The Friendliest Church in Texas
Heart of Texas Church of Christ (HTCC) was established in September of 2015, meeting at the Colony Amenities Center in Bastrop. We soon outgrew that facility and were blessed to have a door open for us at the Opera House in downtown Bastrop. The Lord has blessed our efforts at every turn, opening doors and increasing our numbers. Parker White, one of our members and a few other Godly men preached the word for us until we were blessed again to find our first minister, Tom Medlin. Tom and Kathy were loved by all, but after a couple of years working beside us, they retired to the valley to be near Kathy’s family.
As of last count, we have 190 members, 3 elders and 5 Deacons. Our new preacher Mike Springfield and his wife Patti, came to work with us in April 2018. They have quickly earned a place in our hearts and are some of the hardest workers we have ever met.
7/16/18, HTCC signed a contract for 8 acres of land on Hwy 304 in Bastrop. This will be the future home of our growing congregation. We have experienced the mighty power of our Lord Jesus Christ, as we have watched door after door open for our beloved congregation.
