We all have those times when life slows  down into the most challenging moments. It  would be easy to blame God for those
moments. Thankfully, we have this
assurance - 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐮𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨  𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐛𝐞𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐮𝐥.

Not only that, but we rejoice in our
sufferings, knowing that suffering produces  endurance, and endurance produces  character, and character produces hope,  and hope does not put us to shame,  because God’s love has been poured into
our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has  been given to us. - 𝐑𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝟓:𝟑-𝟓

You may have heard the statistics before: somewhere around 70% of those that are active in church in their high school years will end up dropping out of church sometime between 17-19 years old. Think about your small group. Cut out 70% of people and that is the kind of dropout status that is happening in churches like  yours all across America. That doesn’t mean all these students leave their relationship with Jesus, but it does mean that they lose a crucial aspect of their discipleship journey: praising together and praying together. As
we saw this past week in our lesson, these two things are HUGE and we need to stay in Christian community to have them.

Read Hebrews 10:24-25.

Why does the writer of Hebrews tell us to not give up meeting with one another? In part, because praising together and praying together helps us “stir up one another to love and good works.” Without these elements in our lives, we end up lacking the encouragement that we get from Christian community in our discipleship journeys. This lack of encouragement could be the reason why nearly two-thirds of students who leave the church end up coming back at some point. They realize their need for others.

Take a few moments and pray about your future for this year and the year to come. Ask God to help you commit to praising and praying with others. Ask Him to help you stay committed no matter how crazy the
schedule gets or what other commitments may come.
