Good Friday morning everybody. We conclude the devotional series "Navigating the Sacred Holy Saturday" by Zita Enterprises, LLC with “After Saturday, And Every Day, Any Day: Not Afraid of the Dark." In today's devotion we discuss some of the things we have learned during the series and are reminded that the dark middle does not just precede the breakthrough or the revelation. In the economy of God, it forms what the breakthrough requires, and it invites us into relationship with our Lord God. We conclude with the encouragement that if you are still in your Holy Saturday, this is not a sign that you have been forgotten, or that your faith is insufficient, or that the promises were wrong. It may be the sign that God is doing something in you that can only be done here, in this specific darkness, chaos, and void, before the Word comes forth.

Monday we begin the devotional series "What the Bible Says About God's Love" by Walt Larimore.

Meditations: [1] Do the next righteous and obedient thing, like the women who kept the Sabbath faithfully when Jesus was in the tomb, even when it feels unbearable.

[2] Stay in direct address to God, in relational fidelity, like Job, even when the silence has gone on too long.

Good Wednesday morning everybody. We continue the devotional series "Navigating the Sacred Holy Saturday" by Zita Enterprises, LLC with “Before the Sun Was Fully Up." In today's devotion we discuss that first Easter morning when Mary Magdalene went to anoit a dead rabbi and found an empty grave instead. We recognize the amazing strength that it must have taken for her to get through that Saturday which led to an encounter with the Resurrected Lord. This is what fidelity in the dark middle actually looks like. Not clarity. Not certainty. Just the next faithful thing until the moment when Jesus speaks our names and sends us out to the world with a message just as He did with Mary.

Meditations: Is there a faithful, obedient "next thing", perhaps a righteous and covenant faithful but hard thing, available to you even in the middle of your unresolved season — something small but faithful that you can do before the sun is fully up, before you have clarity, before the stone is rolled away?

Good Tuesday morning everybody. We continue the devotional series "Navigating the Sacred Holy Saturday" by Zita Enterprises, LLC with “Purposely Late." In today's devotion we dig into the story of Lazarus's death, resurrection, and how its lesson applies to our lives. When we are experiencing our times of grief and disappointment, we can be sure that God is working a miracle for our lives just as He did for Mary and Martha. God loves us and while He often does not prevent our suffering, He will raise it. We also learn that faithful prayer in a crisis looks like this: direct, honest, unembellished, rooted in relationship.

Meditations: [1] Where have you cried out to Jesus, done everything right, and watched the thing you feared, perhaps even the thing you believed that He said wouldn’t happen, happen anyway?

[2] Can you bring Him your unfiltered "if you had been here" — and then wait to see what He does that a healing would never have made possible?

Good Monday morning everybody. We continue the devotional series "Navigating the Sacred Holy Saturday" by Zita Enterprises, LLC with “The Framework That Had to Break." In this devotion we discuss the reality that what happened to Job could not be understood by the framework that had been constructed to explain how God works. Eventually Job realized this and "saw" God for the first time as Job's eyes were opened to a new reality. We are then encouraged to emulate Job by not accepting the old framework but to tear at it, argue with it, and demand an audience with the God it claims to describe. This is not irreverence. This is the most radical form of faith available in the dark — continuing to address God directly, insisting on relationship, refusing to accept silence as the final word, even when the silence has gone on long enough to feel permanent. And, just as He did with Job, God will respond in a way that expands our understanding of him.

Meditations: [1] What framework for understanding God has broken or stopped working in your current season?

[2] Can you, like Job, stay in direct address to God — arguing, questioning, demanding — rather than retreating into either the old answers or silence or abandoning your walk with God?

Good Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning everybody. In today's message titled "Location, Location, Location" we dig into what Simon Peter's answer to Jesus' powerful question "Who do you say that I am" means in our lives today. We close with this: "Who do I say that Jesus is? Who do I say that Jesus is by my life, my allegiance, and my testimony? Am I opening the Kingdom of God to others through my words and especially by the way I live my life?"

Scripture readings - Romans 12:1-3 (NLT) & Matthew 16-13:20 (NLT).

Good Friday morning everybody. We continue the devotional series "Navigating the Sacred Holy Saturday" by Zita Enterprises, LLC with “The Ram You Cannot See Yet." In today's devotion we focus on Abraham's three day journey to sacrifice his son Isaac. We learn that Abraham had to not only have incredible trust in the LORD God, he also may have believed that since God promised him offspring through Isaac, God must be able to raise his son from the dead. We close with a reminder that just as God provided a sacrifice to save Isaac, he provided us a sacrificial lamb in our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus who saves us. It is important for us to remember this when we are going through our toughest times, God will always provide.

Meditations: [1] What two things has God said that feel irreconcilable in your current season?

[2] Can you, like Abraham, name what you know about the character of the One who spoke both — and take the next step up the mountain, trusting that you don’t need to understand or have things resolved beforehand, because He will resolve everything in His own way and in His own timing?

Scripture readings - Genesis 17:4-7 & 22:1-19 , Hebrews 11:17-19, and Romans 8:32.

Good Thursday morning everybody. We continue the devotional series "Navigating the Sacred Holy Saturday" by Zita Enterprises, LLC with “When Faithfulness Leads to Brokenness." In this devotion we focus on the revelation that just as with the prophet Elijah, our following God may lead to times when we are completely depleted. When we have this occur, we can be sure that just as when Elijah brought that emptiness directly to God, God will not punish us for doing so. Now, as then, God's response is not rebuke, not explanation, not a justification of His own actions — but presence.

Meditation: Where has faithful obedience emptied rather than filled you — and have you been able to bring that specific emptiness honestly to God, or have you felt that the exhaustion itself is a spiritual failure?

Good Wednesday morning everybody. We continue the devotional series "Navigating the Sacred Holy Saturday" by Zita Enterprises, LLC with “When Bitterness Is Honest: The Cry that Accuses." In today's devotion we dig into the story of Naomi, focusing primarily on the revelation that it is okay to express our anger, frustration, and disappointments to God when we think He has let us down. She does so, and God does not punish her for it. Instead, he arranges a new and joyful life for her and her daughter-in-law Ruth.

Meditations: [1] Is there an accusation you have been carrying toward God that you have not been able to speak honestly — perhaps because it felt too raw, too faithless, or too large? Can you bring it, as Naomi did, directly to Him, without softening it first?

[2] And can you hold alongside that honesty the possibility — not the certainty, just the possibility — that He may already be arranging circumstances you cannot yet perceive, in the silence you have been living in?

Good Tuesday morning everybody. We continue the devotional series "Navigating the Sacred Holy Saturday" by Zita Enterprises, LLC with “He Means to Pass By." In this devotion we discuss how just as Jesus has authority over the chaos of the storm that His apostles encountered, He has dominion over the disorder in our lives. Sometimes the anarchy is due to our making bad choices, and sometimes it is because we actually followed God's call. We must trust that although the chaos remains, when Jesus decides to enter into it, the disorder immediately ceases.

Meditations: [1] Where has obedience unexpectedly led you into a storm rather than directly and comfortably to the destination God gave you?

[2] What would it mean to consider that Jesus may already be sovereignly present over that chaos — walking in sovereign authority over it — even while you are still frightened inside it, and He is inviting you to get out of your battered boat (whatever you are clinging to for safety and security) and walk with Him, trusting that He will catch you if you start to sink?
